hello,
we are leaving okc on may 21 and returning June 2 give or take a day for return.I was on travelocity and they gave me a quote for nonstop flights for Delta for $880 for 4 RT nonstop tickets! This is an awesome price but is Delta risky this far out from May.If they go non flying dont u have to pay $50 per ticket each way to fly someone else? That would mean i would be out another 400 dollars.Any suggestions on what to do?
Thanks,
Denise

Right now I don't think DL is risky. Their big risk was the pilots and they settled a few weeks ago.

Now.. anything can happen, but I think DL will be around this summer!

thank you for your response.I have never went in the summer to disney but i doubt any major discounts will be offered for this time of the year.I am thinking of booking pop century as well now before i spend my cc money on things i dont need.LOL.
Thanks again for your help!

I totally agree. I have tickets on Delta May 25th to Corpus Christi, Texas for the USBC Open bowling championships. I have absolutely no concerns.

I have a flight scheduled for June and am not worrying about it. The biggest thing, was as someone already posted, the pilots, but that's all settled. And with independence air stopped flying, several airlines are offering standby flights inexchange for your independece air ticket. Hopefully that would be the same if Delta were to flop, which I don't forsee right now.

Cheers!

We have flights on Delta for April that I booked last May. Not a concern at all. Delta is one of the major carriers and I really don't forsee anything major happening with the big ones. The smaller ones like TransMeridian and Independence however, well, we all know what happened there. Pretty much every major carrier has had some issues in the past year, financial, contractual, etc. I really wouldn't worry.

ok thank you.
I have another question.when i book with delta do i get to choose our seats or does that come when i do my online check in?

Once you get your confirmation number you can go to Delta's website and click on Check-In/Intineraries and then click Choose Seats. That will take you to each leg of your flight where you can choose your seats. HTH.

We have tickets purchased on Delta for our October trip and we selected our seats at the time of purchase.

But, it looks like Delta had a schedule change and now instead of flying out at 6:31am we are flying out at 5:31am. :faint:

thank you all for your help.
I did it,i purchased our nonstop flights with delta today leaving okc on May 21 at 7:05 am and leaving orlando June 3 at 7 pm.I think i got a good rate but oh well if not im still going to Disney in May and my tickets are all paid for!!
We paid a total of $980 with taxes and fees for 4 RT nonstop flights!
I have never flown Delta so im nervous about flying anyway but im also very excited to be returning to Disney and Universal studios!
Again thank you all for your reassurance about Delta.
Denise

 Congratulations! That's less than $250 per person, direct flights, and great times! Have a great trip!

Just a thought - We booked our Delta flights months in advance for our trip this past October. I found that the flights changed schedules every few weeks - usually just by a few minutes each change. Since I had chosen my seats at the time I received my confirmation #, I frequently checked in at Delta. If the change is significant (and it never was for us), they could release your seats and you would need to choose them again.
Just use your confirmation # on their web site and you can check your flights online.

thank you for the information regarding flight changes.Im sure i will check the site weekly as i am addicted to my vacation.I will be watching so that they dont change seating as i will be flying just me and 3 kids.2 teens and a 10 year old.LOL.

Just an add - if the schedule change is just to change the time of the flight, my experience with Delta is that the seating assignments are still there, you just can't see them. (Checking a new booking, for example, you'd see that your seats are still unavailable to new passengers.)

In this case, the simplest thing to do is call and have the ticket reissued. Somehow that clears out the old itinerary, and makes the new one visible *with* your assignments viewable and changeable.

I was a bit unnerved myself the first time or two that this happened, but now it's just standard procedure.
