Hi, we've always used Song or Delta non-stop from Newark to Orlando. I now see that after October, Song will no longer be flying to Orlando and Delta flights all seem to go through Atlanta. Does anyone know why Delta would stop flying non-stop to Orlando??

I was very disappointed when I found it. My DD and I loved there planes and the individual tv screens.

My only thought is it had something to do with Jet Blue coming.

Just a guess

quite a while ago (I heard about it at least a month or more ago). I just heard yesterday that JetBlue will be coming in at around the same time Song pulls out.

There was a long discussion thread on the board about Song leaving. Many people with experience in the airline industry/heavy flyers had many thoughts on the subject, but since no one knew about JetBlue, I would not consider that the reason.

Currently, you have Continental flying non stop, with JetBlue coming and USA3000 also joining soon. I'm hoping the fares will drop, but if not, I'll have to continue to travel from LGA or JFK (not my preferred location but when you save over $100/ticket, it's more palatable).

We had booked our Oct non-stop flight from EWR to MCO on Song. I sure was disappointed when we were informed that Song was pulling out of Newark. We used 50,000 AMEX sky miles for 2 free coach :rotfl: tickets, but we were able to switch them Continental FIRST class. They couldn't accomodate our dates, so we had to extend our trip by two days! Hey, works for me.....although I will sorely miss those back-of-the-seat tv screens!
Driving or cabbing into NYC is just not for us, so we're stuck with whatever EWR throws our way.

We have a Delta Skymiles Card with lots of miles and we were planning to use them to fly Song or Delta to MCO a few times this year. I can't see flying from Newark to Atlanta to Orlando...Can we use the Delta miles on partner airlines?
