Delta seat back television?

Last time we flew Delta to MCO (August 2008) our plane had screens on the seat backs that you could watch TV for free or play a trivia game. We all loved this and didn't use any books, video games or other items we packed for entertainment. Does anyone know if all Delta jets have these now? I would love to lighten up the carry on bag!

Thanks,
Tammy

If your plane had green paint on it, it's most likely that you were on a "SONG" aircraft. At that time, SONG was a tiny part of Delta. All of those planes have since been re-branded back into the Delta line because SONG has gone away. SO...chances are real good that you won't find a Delta plane with free seatback TV.

I'd also add that United had something similar with their "TED" brand.

Most of the ones with TV's go longer distances, for example east coast to west coast. I believe they are installing them on more of the planes, other than the ex-Song (757). I was on a 737 with them.

Delta is installing AVOD on domestic aircraft. 787-800's designated as 73H have personal TV and USB ports at every seat. Those designated as 73Y have not been converted. Also, 737-700 only have reported one as upgraded at this time.

Thanks for the info. We were not on a former Song plane, but I think it was a larger one. I believe they are using MD88 for the CVG-MCO route now, so I guess I will have to pack our entertainment. I really enjoyed that trivia game and the flight went by so fast!

I miss Song..used to love flying with them. I'm not a huge fan of Delta though...too much like a cattle car when compared with Jetblue.
But, it would be nice to have tv's in each seat on all flights.

We had a connection last year in Atlanta on Delta and the leg from MCO to Atlanta had the displays on the seats but it was a larger plane. I think they just needed to get that plane to Atlanta, because it seemed really strange to have that big of a plane for such a short flight.

MCO-ATL is a very popular tourist and business route with Delta. They have used one of their largest planes (Boeing 777) on that route for awhile.
