I have flights purchased for January going through Atlanta, and for some strange reason I decided to login and check them today. All but one of my flights had been cancelled due to "Schedule Change" and "Confirmed" on their new times.
That's fine, they were off by like 10 minutes in most cases, except...
...one of them was scheduled to take off before I landed in Atlanta.
I called up Delta and chatted with a CSR to get this fixed, and she informed me that they have a policy where they'll inform people over the phone *if* they have your phone number within three weeks of your flight if there has been a change. In my case, this would have been a few months from now, so I would have been utterly oblivious.
Another issue was that all of my seat selections were wiped from the system, so I had to re-request them. They didn't carry over the preferences, so all were listed as "assign at airport." I'm *really* glad I caught this as my DH would have fumed if we arrived and he didn't get his window seat, or we weren't even sitting next to each other, when we'd purchased tickets 7 months in advance!
Apparently, these schedule changes went into effect yesterday, so it was providence that I checked the flights today.
