I just checked my ressies again on Delta....looks like they've changed flight times for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. You might want to check if that's your carrier.

I know what you are saying about the changing flights.. I booked back in Feb and for the first few months they changed 4 or five times.. both legs of the flight.. We leave in less than 2 weeks.. I really hope they dont change again.
They havent changed them since the middle of June.. I just hope it stays that way... someone also suggested that you even check them while you are at Disney so you dont end up at the airport 3 hrs early when you actually have more time to wait.. or miss your flight altogether..
Do you know if the CM can check your flights.. or do you have to call Delta directly?

CMs don't have direct access to airline reservations systems, like travel agents do. They might be able to check your reservation using their Internet access, if you give them your record locator, but they may or may not have the access/time to do so.

But what if you booked through Disney - wouldn't that make them your TA?

Yes, that would make WDTC your TA, but the front-desk CMs aren't WDTC.

It's far easier to call 800-221-1212 and use their automated service to check flight status, IMO. Personally, I would *never* leave for the airport without checking my flight status first.

Edit -- that's the Delta number, but all the airlines have automated phone service.

DH says they changes our also. I wondered if I could change them and not get charged since they like to change so often, I want an extra day!

Had a voice mail from Delta awaiting us on Friday when we arrived home from work. They totally changed our return flights home and not just 15 minutes or an hour -- they changed it almost 8 hours totally killing the final day of our vacation! We went from a late afternoon flight from an early a.m. flight. Needless to say we were not happy. Called and told them this would be unacceptable! Well, it was the only flight they had at all that day that would take us home. In the end we ended up booking an extra night in Florida with an early a.m. departure the next day. Their change ended up costing us an extra night's cost in hotel. Well, we're happy to have that extra time in Florida on vacation but upset that their change will cost us extra $$. Not impressed with Delta at all right now.

Don't hold it against Delta -- it could have been any of the domestic airlines, and some might not have been accommodating enough to offer you the next day.

Hey Bicker --
You're correct, the original Delta operator I got told me they could only change me to a new flight on that same day. I said great that's the day we want to leave anyway, we'd take anything they had after 3 p.m. Turns out it was a mute point because they had nothing else to offer me - they didn't have any other flights other than that single early a.m. they switched me to -- it was the only one that day at all! Second Delta operator I got said that yes, because it was their fault/problem that they would gladly change us to the next a.m. at no extra charge. So yes, I was pleased that they were willing to own up to their change with that correction. We do know flights change and willingly accept that - an hour or two here or there is fine - this was just an entire day! Thanks!

Which airport are you flying into? Unless they mean they don't have the number of seats you need, or you're flying into Madison or insist on non-stop flights, I was able to find later flights on Delta's website to all the WI airports. Note that since I didn't know your exact dates, I checked August 13.

You should ALWAYS reconfirm/check flights at least the day before you travel, no matter what airline or where you are going. Do you really not already do this?

Well, we're happy to have that extra time in Florida on vacation but upset that their change will cost us extra $$

That was your choice. This change could have happened with any airline, not just Delta.

I so agree with everyone. Sometimes air travel just is a crap shoot no matter who you fly with.

Our flights are in October to Appleton. Maybe with that airport and during that month Delta was doing some rescheduling.

Our flights for December have changed 3 times.....I have now been checking the website on a daily basis, as I had not been contacted at all regarding changes, just happened to check my itinerary on the Delta website and had to call to get seats for us.

OMG...you guys made me check my reservations and the flights have been changed 3 times! I got no email notifications, but they sure don't seem to have any problems sending me junk mail! That really irritates me, because they have my email!

I am really po'd because we are traveling with 5 kids under the age of 10 and they lost all of the seat assignments I so painstakingly figured out on who was sitting where. grrrrrr....

I am on the phone now with reservations, but I wonder what happens when they change the reservations again? Oh, wait...I know...I lose my seats again.

ktpool - most likely the airline wouldn't notify you of changes until much closer to your travel dates. After all, who knows HOW many changes they'll make between now and then?

I'm flying to FL to pick up the Dkids from visitation with their dad - and working in a trip to WDW, of course - so my ex bought my plane tickets. I noticed that Delta had changed my flight time a week or so ago, so I commented on that when talking to my ex on the phone. He replied, "Oh yeah, I got an e-mail about that." Gee, thanks! After reading the OP here, I checked again today and sure enough, the flight times have changed again - strangely, closer to the original times.

Last year NWA changed my flight times so often I did not trust their information until I checked in the day before - and still showed up at the airport early, just in case!

Airlines generally only inform passengers of schedule changes three weeks prior to the flight (or so). This keeps costs down, which is in line with what passengers want most: low fares. Why bother wasting both their money and ours, informing us of schedule changes, if they're just going to change again another two or three months later?

I don't mind slight changes to the schedule. Things happen. I do however, do not like the idea like ktpool about the no seat assignment. You go to the trouble of picking the seats you want and make sure everyone is together and then when they change the flight schedule, your seat assignment is gone. I know they can sometimes make changes for you at the airport, but it becomes very difficult. Hopefully it works out in the end. :sunny:

When we flew Delta (whom we have always flown for years) this past May, they changed our flight 5 times! The last time it was a change of over 4 hours. They gave us a very late flight, and when I said it was unacceptable, they put us 5 hours earlier. What I did not know is that if a flight change was over 2 hours, you had the right to ask for a refund and book somewhere else. That option, if provided to me, would have been the route we would have taken. Every customer service rep I spoke to was nasty and not really helpful at all - even disconnected me when I asked to speak to their manager! Delta has gone way down (at least for us) in the past few years. From now on it will be Jetblue all they way.
