I was checking airfare from April, and saw on Orbitz that Delta is now flying non-stop from ACY to MCO. I went to Delta's website to confirm, and they are indeed flying this non-stop route. They're pricing about $100 cheaper than Spirit. Has anyone else heard information about this? For some reason, I'm nervous about booking with Delta; can anyone give me any reason to be (or not be) legitametly nervous about this?

The new "Delta" non-stop flights from ACY to MCO are on a regional jet, not a full size plane. I'm ok in these for an hour+ flight, but when you get to 2.5 hours (like this route) I prefer the big planes. Of course, you may be more/less tollerant.

As far as booking Delta goes, I don't know what you are nervous about so its difficult to reassure you. I fly them regularly and had no qualms about booking my next two Disney trips (Oct & Dec) on them.

Just FYI for anyone else reading this, the ACY-MCO Delta nonstops don't start until November 15, 2006.

I'd have no trepidation about booking a Delta flight. I'm just happy our little corner of the world is getting more air travel options. For my early November trip, I had a choice of paying over $500 per person to fly Spirit, or $300 per person out of PHL on AirTran (nonstop), and I decided not to spend an extra $800 to fly from an airport 15 minutes from my home.

I'm nervous because I've never flown Delta before. Delta seems to be a love it or hate it airline - that's what has me so nervous. But, for $100, I definately won't complain (I'm flying solo)!

This is our first year flying Delta and from what I've read here, I've become a little scared as well.

What I can say from watching the prices for Delta (as is true for other airlines), is that a price drop can last as little as a day and then hike right back up, so if it's a good price for you, I'd seriously consider booking.

Thanks, everybody! I think I'm going to book - the price is just too good to pass up.

I'd have no hesitation flying Delta - in fact it's one of my preferred airlines.

Thanks, szymon. I did book yesterday; $220 for Easter week is just too good to pass up (Spirit wanted $337). The only downside is that Delta gets me in to MCO a whole hour later than Spirit (10:30AM instead of 9:30AM). To me, it's worth it. :)

Its not my favorite, but Delta is not bad by any means. They seem to have just mediocre employees. Thats fine when the fare is $100 cheaper p/p!! As far as the regional jets, there's no doubt that they are small. Its like riding in a subcompact car for 2.5 hours....
