Comair is great. The only "bad" part might be having to walk out onto the ramp to get in the airplane if the weather is ugly, but that's really no big deal. Think about it this way, when the movie stars get on their private jets, they don't have jetways either 
There isn't as much space for luggage, but you should be fine with like a backpack or duffel bag. Just none of those HUGE carry-on's that people take that would use up an entire overhead on a 747.
Comair also flies only the CRJ (Canadair Regional Jet) aircraft, which are MUCH nicer than some of the other "small" planes that some airlines fly. They are just as quiet and comfortable as the "big" jets, and VERY safe and reliable. Don't let any comments about safety bother you, either. I can assure you that Comair has an excellent record and these planes are perfectly safe.
