I had been hoping for one of these minor schedule changes to get our seats moved together, but it didn't happen.
We booked a couple of months prior to travel and were able to get me and DS together, but DH in the row behind us. The arrangement was ok, but thought I'd check at the gate to see if we could move. It never hurts to ask, right?
There was no attendant at our gate, so I checked at a different gate and was told there was a row of three together, but they had to be assigned at our gate. When I got back, there were quite a few people in line. One of the flight attendants was walking along the line to see if she could answer any questions, to help speed up the line. I asked of the possibility of changing seats, and some people in front of me said they were also trying to change. The attendant said the flight was overbooked, and with others waiting for seats, I decided to be happy with what we had.
When we boarded, DH's boarding pass was not "cleared" and had to be looked up in the system. The reason it did not work is because they changed his seat to be in our row! Pixie dust! I saw the flight attendant later and thanked her. She said the gate agent worked really hard at getting all the families moved together.
A final note: the door was closed and we pulled away from the gate 8 minutes prior to scheduled departure, so arrive early!
