I see that Delta has curbside check in at MCO. Does this mean that after you check your bag with the skycap you no longer have to handle it. TSA screens it and sends it thru to be put on the plane.

I fly out of NYC, LGA/JFK/EWR and this is the procedure. I have read that in some airports you need to take your luggage to the TSA screener for review.

yes, when we used Delta curbside at MCO in May, they took the luggage (gave us the claim checks and our boarding passes) and then you just head for the gate (you'll have to go thru the security screening yourself to get to the gate).

If I were to use Delta curbside check-in, would I need to leave my luggage unlocked for the TSA screening? Is this still a policy? In the past (post 9/11) at various airports, I've hung around until after the screening so that I could lock up my suitcases. Just wondering how they're handling it at MCO for curbside bags...

Yes, you need to leave your luggage unlocked. At MCO you do not take the luggage to the screening area for Delta so your luggage will need to be unlocked no matter where you check it. If not, TSA may remove the lock and will not be responsible for damage done while the lock is being removed.

Thanks for the answer, CarolA. I haven't flown Delta in a while, so it's nice to know ahead of time what to expect. :D
