For those of you travelling from Boston-check your flights. Ours has changed and will land earlier. (At least that's what happening right NOW)

Nashville has changed too for June. This is a bit annoying right now. Detroit is affected also.

Flight changes are going to happen. Best bet is to keep a close eye on the flights (I do it daily or multiple times a day). As soon as you see a change, call Delta and have them re-assign the seats. The quicker you do it, the better change you have of getting your seats back.

Thanks for the heads up. Ours changed too. We are flying down on June 29 and back on July 6. The changes have us leaving Boston an hour earlier, and leaving Orlando 1.5 hours earlier. Neither change is a big deal for us, but my reservation did show all our seats as "unassigned". It took me 30 minutes on hold this morning (on the frequent flyer phone number) to get through to a rep and get the seats reassigned. Interestingly, the service rep told me that my seats were still assigned and still there but I just couldn't see them in the on-line account. She "cleaned things up" and then I could see them again. She said I would not have lost my seats even if I hadn't called.

We have yet to plan a trip to WDW via Delta or USAir that didn't have at least one flight change, and several times I discovered it myself by monitoring my itinerary online, not because they e-mailed me.

They have yet to notify us via email since the three times it has changed. I've found out by looking at our itinerary. I still plan to call them about our seats though.

FWIW, I was able to select our seats for the 'new' flight on the Delta site, no need to call Detla.

As dudspizza said, get used to itinerary changes. They are practically a fact of life with the airlines now. I prefer to book tickets early, but resign myself to regularly checking and following up on equipment changes, schedule changes, cancellations, rebookings, etc. I've signed up for email alerts, but rarely receive them.

ANNOYING. Last Aug we had scheduled Song, Delta absorbed Song. Our flights were changed SIX times. I have never had so many changes. They did not email us each time. I found out because I know enough to keep checking. Thanks Dis. This summer booked Jet Blue. Ya, I know....hopefully no snowstorms this Aug!

Glad you posted this. I wouldn't have bothered to check until right before we left! I checked on the WDW site & our Delta flight from Orlando to Atlanta was changed (earlier of course so we are losing part of our last day:sad2: ). Thanks for the heads up!

This sounds just like what happened to me this weekend only I was on the phone Saturday from, 11:23-1:00 and then again from 5:11-6:36 :headache: (because of so many calls reguarding the flights being cancelled due to the weather) trying to make sure we had the same seats on our new flight. Then on Sunday I had to call again because our seats were showing unassigned also. It only took about 30min to get it cleared up "again" . Delta told me the same thing, that they will try and put you in the same seats you were assigned if your flight has changed but I don't want to take any chances.;)

Beware- they will tell you that you still have seats. That does not mean that you are still sitting together. They had my kids sitting by themselves. Great for a 5 year old on his first plane flight! Be sure of where your new seats are located. Also, if your flight time changes by more than an hour, they will usually change your flight to a different on if you want them to. Call, be friendly, but firm. And call back later if you don't get someone helpful the first time. They changed my Nov. flight 3 times, only once was I able to fix it on line. In the end, I had better flight times than I had originally booked.
:goodvibes

Thanks for posting this. It made me check my intinerary and they had canceled our flight and put us on the one leaving 2 and half hours later. That was not going work. I called and they put us on the early morning flight with no change fee. The rep was knowledgable and very pleasant. We will be at WDW 4 hours+ earlier than before but I think we can find something to do. I will continue to check at least weekly and be sure our seats are still assigned. Thanks again.

DH is on the phone right now with Delta. He is changing our reservation.

(16 minutes later)

All arranged. Now flying BGR to ATL to MCO. Let's see how long this lasts...
