Been stalking Delta Airlines airfare for the past 1 1/2 weeks for July 8 to 16to MCO....beginning of last week it was at $220, Friday it went to $240 and today it went to $250....
Being that we are about 5 1/2 months out...do you think it will keep going up and go down some? There aren't many seats filled at this time either on the flights I am looking at. I have $50 credit vouchers I have to use by mid February and was really liking the $220 fare, which put me at $170 a person.:confused3

I've always found Delta one of the highest when it comes to airfare. I don't know where you're flying from, but have you've checked other airlines like SouthWest or JetBlue. I've never flown them but I know they're very popular, especially SW prices. I pulled the trigger and got airfare even after noticing many of the seats were empty. My husband mentioned that the airline can switch out a plane to a smaller one if it doesn't fill. I was watching airfare for the longest time on United (what we usually fly in our area...not a lot of choices) and I waited too long. Not only did United prices continue to rise, the choices and connections all changed too. Instead of one stop, I couldn't get a flight without two stops and some were three! Ended up going with another airline and paid more than I wanted but the times and layovers are much better. My advice is to buy the airfare when you feel comfortable. I don't believe as passengers we will be getting many bargains. Rule of thumb for a friend of mine, if it's in the $300's...she buys.
