Question re: walking a reservation:
What do you recommend in terms of walking practice(s) for the following situation?
Goal is to get a 2 or 3-night studio at GCH for 8/9-8/11 or 8/9-8/12
or a 1 BR at GCH for 2 nights from 8/9-8/11 or 8/10-8/12.
I DID have 3 nights in a GCH studio starting 7/31 until yesterday, when somebody else snagged the next day on the calendar, so I was only able to move it forward by changing it to a 2-night stay in a studio. So now I've got 8/1-8/3.
I THINK this means that my attempts tomorrow and the day after will result in no luck for moving my reservation forward but MAYBE I might have more success for 8/5, assuming the people who have 8/3-8/4 don't also try to walk THEIR reservations.
8/14-8/16 is the
D23 convention in Anaheim, so there's no way in this big green earth that I'd be able to book those dates anyway...hence the tentative plan is to stay at GCH earlier in that week and then we switch to another hotel for going to the convention & doing other things in the area.
Let's say I CAN eventually get 2 nights in the 8/9-8/12 time frame, but I wanted to try to add a 3rd night. Would you all recommend to put in a 1-night waitlist request and then try to merge the 2 reservations by calling Member Services?
OR should I instead put in a 3-night waitlist for those dates once my 7-month booking window opens for those dates (assuming that I can't initially reserve those dates on 1/9)?
