After looking for our flight on the internet and not finding it I called Delta to check on our flights. Well wouldn't you know it they decided to change our our plane from a 737 to Delta Express which is about half the size of the 737. They right away offered a refund I said no due to the fact that we got our flights fairly cheap. Well to make a long story short we are leaveing earlier in the morning on a larger jet. Some how I donot think that this will be our last change, but I hope that it is. They are blameing it on the war. I would advise anyone who flies with Delta to keep checking on there flights

You don't say where you are flying from, but from what I have been reading LOTS of smaller cities are going to be left with nothing but commuter airlines.

Sorry but i forgot to mention that we are leaving from Cleveland Ohio on June 9 2003

We were switched over to Song from Delta Express. The schedule did not change, not even our seats, so it was a nice and smooth transition.

However, Song's plane is larger and we were able to change our seats to row 2! If you see the seat map you realize that on one side row 2 is the very first row. On the other side, row 1 still seats passengers.

This happened to us two weeks ago on a Saturday.

They cancelled our flight home to Dayton and had us in a five and one-half hourly layover in Atlanta. I called them and after two hours of trying to get us different flights (there are nine of us) home earlier because of a previous commitment they ended flying us round trip out of Cincinnati. They did offer us a refund but there is no way we would get tickets for what we paid for them.

I check several times a day now.

We booked our flight in March for November from Minneapolis to Orlando. So far, 3 of our 'legs' have been changed to different size planes. Our son & his family are going with us but they made their reservations seperate from ours. When we made the reservations on the internet we chose seats that were together. With the new planes sizes - our seats were Not together because we were not connected on the reservations. I have called Delta & made the nrw seat assignment switches so that we are back together again with no problem. So far there has been No big changes with the original flight times!! Will be interesting to see what happens between now & November!!!

This has also happened to me. We are a family of 5 traveling with a lap child. We were originally flying on a large plane. I don't know what size. A 2-3-2 configuration or 2-5-2 now we are on a 3-3 configuration. When they changed planes we too lost our seat assignments. I had originally done them together sitting 2 of us on one isle and the the other 2 behind them, with me holding the baby. Now we are booked with me sitting with all three kids and my husban on the isle in front of us. It will probably be over sold now, because most of the seat are already taken. Plus we don't leave until the end of September. And..... it doesn't matter when we leave out of Salt Lake, all the direct flights have been changed to smaller planes. AND....... YOU CAN NEVER GET THROUGH ON THE DELTA 1-800 number to make any changes!!!! and they wonder why they are struggling.
go figure:confused:

One piece of advice that I was given when I first started booking my own airline tickets is that the longer the time span between booking and the actual flight, the greater the chance of unwanted changes. If you book six months out, you can just about expect something to change, either flight time, seating, plane change, etc. It's a chance we take by booking so far in advance. It might be safer to book closer to the trip, if you aren't flexible.

they are always busy trying to accomodate other pax who are in the same boat you are in.
They are stuggling, just like most airlines, because of the after effects of 9/11 and the present effects of the war. Try the Frequent Flier miles line. That tends to be less busy, of course, I am assuming you have a Frequent Flier membership.

I must be a really fortunate. I've had great luck getting through to Delta. And have gotten some really nice people to work with. Just one time did I get someone not terribly pleasant. And he was just sort of abrupt, not rude. Probably just incredibly busy with fanatics like me!!! They, and Song, have so far been good about working with me and giving me what I need. But, I have been able to be pretty flexible also.

i've gone BDL to MCO many times with delta (most recently in march) and i haven't had any problems or changes. i've booked my flights greater than 6 mths out with NO changes!
i've also always been able to get right through when i call. was i just plain lucky or has the change to song made a big impact?
we've always had delta express and they've been great--on time, even leaving early when the flight was filled up. the snacks on the other hand.... oh well, can't have it all!
