We booked five tickets for our October trip at $240.00. The prices came down about $75 so we got vouchers. I want to get APs and fit in another trip with our vouchers. Online the fares for May 2002 are $158.00, but by calling Delta I get a fare of $220.00. Previously the difference between online and calling has only been $5-$10. We have to order the tickets over the phone because of our vouchers. Does anyone with experience with airfares think the prices will come down in the range of the online fares? Any suggestions?

well with usair I was able to book my ressie online and go to the city tkt office and exchange my voucher for my tkts. as long as they can access your reservation at the airport or a city tkt office they can do it that way. if the vouchers specifically do not say you can't use it for online reservations on their web sight you can fight it. the internet has lower fares than calling the 800 nbr. its an enticement for you to book online......this will help them to not have to pay an agent to do it for you.

Calling Delta over the phone is usually never cheaping than buying online. It's either the same or more. You may want to hold off buying tickets for May, because they will probably go down some. When we've traveled in May, we have found the fares have gone down around January or February. It's frustrating when you see such a good deal online, but can't get it with your credit vouchers. It's happened to us a couple times. Good luck!

Hi everyone...

Delta had told me if I booked online I COULD get a voucher if my price went down. My friend is currently trying to talk to Delta because her flight she booked on Delta.com went from $150-$118. So far i am not so lucky...mine has gone down $10 so unless she has an easy time getting a voucher I am not going to drive myself crazy.

Does anyone have any advice for her if Delta gives her a hard time???

Thanks
Jennifer

Called Delta.com... was told that no matter where I booked... online on Delta.com or via telephone... Delta had to give me the lowest price they are showing in their system. They told me they do not have access to the Delta.com webfares.... but if the price in their system is lower than the one you paid...you are entitled to a voucher....and you can also receive more than one if your price continues to go down. I was not able to receive a $10 voucher because they were not showing the webfare in their system....which is because Delta.com is having a $10 off special if you book online. My friend was able to receive her voucher.

So for anyone who booked online and your price drops... be persistent...because if Delta has it in their system (remember it is a different system then the online prices) you are entitled to a voucher.
