Delicious Indeed!

um, so many updates to catch up on! Let's see if I remember.....

Snow White - definitely scary and I haven't gone on it in ages. No way was I taking my DD on that - she would have freaked. I remember going on it with a friend in college and both of us screaming everytime the witch popped up.

Chuppah - love the Gilmore Girls shout out! That Luke, he''s so handy!

CHH - absolutely love that place. It's like once I enter MK and it gets clsoe to lunch/dinner time, I start craving fried fish and shrimp. I don't know what it is, but it's soooooo good.

I didn't know that about the HM - that you could potentially see something moving around at night. The area already freaks me out at night, I think I would be even more scared if I saw that!

Dole whips - yum! I can't usually finish one all by myself though. I usually just steal bites from my husband's.

Love the Splash ride photo. Classic.

BTMRR at night is the best! Especially when the heat of the day is too much.

Love the Dole Whip Floats that you all enjoyed!

:woohoo: for no flash photographers on Pirates!

I've read KK1 and I have KK2 & 3 but haven't read them yet. I need to catch up!

I don't really remember Splash in the dark even though I know I did ride it at night. I'll have to try that next time too!

Yeah, if there were flash photographers on this one, I would've requested that we go on it again to get it right!

You just don't expect a Fantasyland ride to be THAT creepy!

Haha, yup, I knew you'd know the GG reference! I've been listening to GG during my crafting time. I know it so well that I don't have to watch it, so I can concentrate on whatever I'm crafting at the moment!

Ooo, never tried the fried shrimp at CHH! A must do next time!

Yeah, I'll have to split one with Howard next time. Plus, there are SO many things to eat and snack on!

Wednesday, February 23: Skipper Matthew

After our visit with the 3 cutie pies, we headed to Jungle Cruise since we were still in Adventureland.

IMG_7190.jpg

These boats always remind me of VMK. The game was a photographing game, but I didn't really play it that often unless I needed to for a quest. It was still pretty cool to see the scenes that Howard and I had seen so many times in the game (even though I had seen them many more times in real life BEFORE VMK).

IMG_7194.jpg

JC scenery.

IMG_9252.jpg

We all know that it's not the scenery that draws us to Jungle Cruise. It's the hopes of having a great skipper! And we did have a great skipper during this boat ride. His name was Matthew.

IMG_9253.jpg

IMG_9254.jpg

What made it better was that he had an accent that just made his jokes even funnier! Don't worry; I recorded part of it for you! I can't get it to upload in Photobucket, so I added it to YouTube instead. Click here!

One of my favorite part was when he said, "Put your hands together and clap for the backside of he waterfall. You can't see that every day. I can. Every day. Actually every 10 minutes, I'm here. Kids ... stay in school." It was just the way he said it with his awesome accent!

You can't see it in the video, but you can hear it. When Matthew says the elephants are going to spray the boat and starts going, "Uh oh ... uh oh, bad elephant" and other start joining in, it got Nikki nervous enough to actually duck from getting sprayed!

The BEST BEST BEST part was at the end when he said that we were going to have a boat competition. We were held up at the end waiting to reach the dock, so he had us cheer to the boat in front of us. They didn't respond, so he thought that maybe there was a manager on the dock. But then later on, the other boat did respond! Haha, it was really funny, and it just goes to show how "close" you get to complete strangers when you're in Disney World! Haha, it was one boat vs. another boat!

"Get out. Oh so rude, I'm sorry. MAGICALLY, get out."

Wednesday, February 23: The Love of Nik's Life

We survived our boat ride through the jungle, so we were pretty much done with Adventureland. We headed out, but you wouldn't really be able to tell based on this picture because a lot of it was covered.

IMG_9256.jpg

The parade was in progress. We were rather far away with a bunch of people in front of us. It was nice that it was February though so that we weren't sweating bullets or anything while standing in direct sunlight. Anyway, look at how excited Wendy looks!

IMG_7195.jpg

Haha, I've never noticed the pumpkin on top of Cinderella's coach! I mean, not that I've seen it many times in real life, but I mean in terms of other people's pictures.

IMG_7197.jpg

I wonder what all these men think about a parade filled with princesses.

IMG_9259.jpg

A Kingdom of Dreams? A Kingdom for Keepers!

IMG_7198.jpg

Watching!

IMG_9261.jpg

Beast is slightly frightening because he's so large. Haha, yesterday I introduced the next writing assignment to my 6th graders. They're doing the "misunderstood antagonist" creative writing assignment where they have to retell a popular fairytale, Aesop's Fable, or Disney movie from the antagonist's point of view making it seem as if the story that's out there is actually all lies. They need to come up with explanations as to why things happened the way they did to basically show that the "bad guy" wasn't actually bad. Well, we were discussing possible movies to use, and someone mentioned Beauty and the Beast. They asked who the antagonist was, and I said, "Gaston." Then another kid said, "What's the Beast's name?" And we all looked at him and said, "Beast." Haha, it was funny at the moment.

IMG_7201.jpg

He's monstrous!

IMG_9262.jpg

Has anyone ever asked Belle why Beast is there in the meet-and-greet when he was changed into a prince at the end of the movie? Or are we supposed to think that they're meeting people in the midst of the movie? But if that's the case, the Beast wouldn't be out in public because he wouldn't want to be seen by others. Am I thinking too much into this?

IMG_9263.jpg

I haven't seen Princess and the Frog yet to know whether or not I'll like this movie! I'm sure I will; I did finally watch Tangled like, two months ago or so! I LOVED that!

IMG_7202.jpg

Anyway, the best part of the parade was Nik's assignment over her man - Aladdin! Look at her snapping a picture of him!

IMG_9257.jpg

Then I told her to point to him so I could get a picture of her "with" him (since we didn't get one in Adventureland because the line was closed). Alas, I didn't realize she was pointing in the wrong direction when I took it, and afterwards, it was too late to try it again. Haha, she's not really poking that guy's head. She was trying to point out her love!

IMG_9258.jpg

Well, we soon had to say goodbye to Aladdin. Until next time!

Haha, that picture is hilarious! She totally does look like she's poking that guys head!

I love Tangled! I'm glad you watched it recently. Such a great movie. Definitely put Princess and the Frog on your list too. It's a good movie.

Wow, I don't know how I missed all of your updates! :confused3 All caught up now. I really have got to try a dole whip. I feel like it is some sort of Disney sin if you don't. haha I can't believe I've never had one.

That video of the little girls meeting the Aladdin characters is too cute. Love how they were all dressed up.

Don't you love it when the skippers make Jungle Cruise so much fun? That's awesome you had a little "competition" with the other boat.

YAY for finally seeing Tangled! I loved that movie. And I also agree, you need to see Princess and the Frog-I loved that one too! :goodvibes

Haha, doesn't it? Poke poke.

Thank goodness it's on Netflix, so when I have the time, I'll start it again! I watched the first few minutes at one point, but I decided to switch to an action-y movie.

Haha, I just like it a lot because it's pineapple, and I love pineapple. I would understand it if people don't like it though, but oh man, I crave it. I have a picture of one hanging from the first shelf above my computer table. That's the only picture I have. Haha, when I get upset about work and all that, I just think about WDW and dole whip floats!

Yeah, that competition was definitely memorable!

I will definitely see it soon!

:rotfl:It totally looks like she's poking his head! :lmao:I love photos like that because years from now when you're looking back at them they instantly put a smile on your face.

I never thought about the Beast thing! Very interesting! Maybe it would confuse the kids when a good-looking guy says "Hey, there, little one! I'm Beast!"

Being a teacher seems so cool! (well, some of the parts anyways ;) ) So neat to get to interact and educate the kids (and then leave them and go home! :)).

You have GOT to see Princess and the Frog!! It really is such a great movie. If you loved Tangled, you'll love Princess and the Frog. The beginning seems a little boring, but it does pick up!

I'm always sort of bothered by the Beast appearing in Beastly form. I suppose since he is a Beast for so much of the movie, he would be less recognizable as a prince, but it is odd.

I wasn't expecting much from Princess and the Frog, but I actually ended up liking it a lot. Although, I'll warn you, Dr Facilier can be very scary.:scared1:

You are definitely not thinking too much into it! I just asked Brandon a few weeks ago why Rapunzel still has her long, blonde hair when you meet her in MK, when we all know at the end of Tangled that's not how she looks! :confused3

You should definitely watch the Princess and the Frog, it's one of my favorite Disney movies now! I did not think I'd like it at first, but it's SO good, and the songs are awesome! :thumbsup2

I have also asked that question. I came up with this theory that he grew so accustomed to being the beast that he felt kind of naked after he changed back to normal. He was never fully comfortable being in human form ever again and often wore a fake beast suit.

I also overthink things like...why do we see Ariel with her tail? Why is (insert random villan) still alive? Didn't he die?

When I'm in a mood, I go back and watch the videos and look at the pictures from the trip. I love the wacky ones like that! They really do put a smile on my face!

Haha, yeah, did he still go by that name after he turned into a human?

Right now I'm struggling through this whole teaching thing ... arg. Haha, so it's not so cool at this point.

I'll definitely watch Princess and the Frog; it's on Netflix, haha.

Yeah, that's how it is with so many movies! When I finally watched Tangled, I thought the same thing about the end. However, it took me forever to actually SEE the movie, it would've been spoiled had I seen her with her different hair!

Ooo, a creepy character ... haha, I'll be cautious!

Seriously! But like I said one comment above you to Kate, if she had the short, brown hair in the parks, it totally would've ruined the movie for me because it took forever for me to actually watch it! Haha.

I'll definitely set time aside to watch it!

Interesting theory! Oh, you're right about Ariel too! Haha, so many discrepancies.

Wednesday, February 23: Monsters, Napping, and Trading

At this point in our day, we headed back to Tomorrowland to watch Monsters Inc Laugh Factory. That queue is so awesome. I still remember the first time I saw everything. I think it's great how we walk through the door with a laugh canister right there!

IMG_7205.jpg

My picture is blurry, but it's brighter.

IMG_9265.jpg

And who doesn't love a few packages of Blort to snack on during the show?

IMG_7206.jpg

I actually think this door is rather entertaining because it's just SO small! In reality, wouldn't it be a little bigger though? I mean, Mike Wazowski was a little bigger than Boo, and I can't imagine a little girl (even if it is a toddler), fitting through this door. Maybe the door is bigger than from what I remember, but it still seem kinda tiny!

IMG_7207.jpg

Hmm, it does look bigger than I remember it ... haha, I forgot that I took a picture with both doors so that there would be a size reference!

IMG_9266.jpg

How many of you are just itching to straighten out that last photo?

IMG_7208.jpg

Haha, I love how wonky those stars are cut!

IMG_9267.jpg

The one thing I don't like about this queue is standing there to watch the pre-show. For some reason, my feet are ALWAYS hurting. Haha. Maybe it's the time of day or something (we tend to see it later in the day rather than earlier), but my feet are just dying to get some rest, and I'm eager to sit down. I get very impatient with this pre-show. Maybe it's not that entertaining to me anymore.

IMG_7209.jpg

Well, I'd comment on the show except for the fact that I don't remember a THING about it! None of us were on screen for anything, and I don't specifically remember any funny people (although I'm pretty sure there was). That's what happens when you write a February trip report in November. At least I haven't passed that one year mark like I did with my other TR!

Since we were in Tomorrowland, I wanted to head back to the TTA since only Howard and I had ridden it that morning. I love pictures here. The picture that I use on my blog is from going up the flat escalator platform thingie too. It just makes me smile because I LOVE being there!

IMG_7212.jpg

Well, this usually ends up being a slightly boring ride to some, I know. As much as I love seeing the sights of Tomorrowland and enjoying all that is DISNEY, others think it's a good opportunity to nap. Haha, I don't blame 'em; I've closed my eyes a few times on this ride too. What was funnier was that Dani was in between the two sleepyheads! Yup, the CM put all 5 of us in one car! When we got back to the condo that day, Howard posted this picture on Facebook. Haha. (I think we saw Carousel of Progress soon after too because I remember falling completely asleep during the show!)

IMG_7213.jpg

There wasn't much left for us to do in Tomorrowland except for the thing we had been doing all day ... TRADE VINYLMATION! We headed back to the Space Mountain dump shop. We interacted with this adorably sweet CM. I love nice CMs. Well, Dani wanted to trade her Mushu, and she got the baseball one first, but the CM did ask if she was looking for anything in particular. I like it when they do that. I mean, I've said it before, but it doesn't affect the CMs to ask us which one we would like. I know it's not TECHNICALLY trading, but I feel like they can tell if someone's trading just for the fun of it or if someone's trading because she/he is really trying to get an entire series. We didn't have many days left in Disney, so it helped that there were so many willing to help Dani complete her collection. And she did already put the money into it by buying the ones to trade, so Disney wasn't losing out. Haha, that's just be two cents.

We did have to head back to Merchant of Venice, and Dani was willing to buy another one with hope that it would be the s'mores one she so desperately wanted. Ray chose it for her, and of course, there's something about the Rays/Raes choosing Vinylmation for their significant others! It wasn't the s'mores one, but you can watch to see which one she does get! (Haha, or you can see it in the screen shot.)

While we were walking back and forth from the Vinylmation section to the register, this Stitch doll just RANDOMLY fell on me. It was the FUNNIEST thing ever. No one knocked into it (I was walking behind everyone, so I know no one did). But as I walked by, it just lunged forward to fall on me! Haha, Howard and I were cracking up so hard about it because there's no other way to describe it except RANDOM! Haha, sorry Stitch, you're not coming home with me.

IMG_7216.jpg

And of course, it wouldn't be a RachelNinja TR without pictures of feet or VIDEO of feet. Haha. As I explained in my 2010 TR, I hold the camera almost all day and so I do click the button without thinking. Since I had the camera on video, I recorded our walking around Merchant of Venice and part of our conversation about Dani finding a chaser.

Yes, there is still more video. Haha, someone had mentioned (I forgot who, sorry!) that this was definitely the Vinylmation report. It really was! It was time for Howard to trade. Even though the magic mirror was one of the cooler ones out of the set, it wasn't really one that he had any special connection to (or would want out on his desk at work or something). I love how in the video you can see the girl in the background looking at the back of the tradebox; she walks back and forth for a while looking at it (then the other one looks too!)! I would LOVE to see the back of the tradebox! Not because I want to pick the Vinylmation I want (I still haven't gotten suckered in and don't plan to), but I just would like to see what the CMs see (kind of like a behind the scenes type of look).

After that time spent in Tomorrowland and all that trading, we were definitely HUNGRY for some FOOD! Yay!!! Time for an early dinner!!!

Great update! I started trading Vinylmations on my trip, and I loved the CM's that would ask if you were looking for any specific one! :thumbsup2 I also loved the ones that would let you pick twice! What did Howard ask the CM for at the end of the video, I couldn't hear it?

I tried peeking in the trade boxes a few times, didn't work! :rotfl:

Thanks! I had the day off (going a little insane at work ...) so I decided to focus on some Disney and write an update!

Trading is so much fun to watch and film, haha. Especially when it was hilarious moments like constantly getting the one that Dani did NOT want! Howard was asking for the Lightning McQueen one. He's a Cars fan, and that's one of the ones he was looking for (that's why he was buying that particular series).

Haha, I'm determined to one day see the back of it! I'll have to be like those 2 in the video!

I love the sleeping picture on the Peoplemover! It is a great ride to relax on though. I can understand that. And I totally get why you fell asleep in the Carousel of Progress. Not that I don't like the show, but it can be a snoozer if you're in the right mood.

I didn't know that some cast members would ask you what you were looking for when it came to trading Vinylmation! That's good to know if I ever have any that I want to trade.

Hi Rachel! I know we have been talking tons on Facebook but I have been extremely absent on your TR and I am so sorry!

I just wanted to let you know I am going back now to catch up. It will probably take me awhile to get my comments in order but I will be back soon with a whole bunch of thoughts!

Now the fun begins...I've got a hot cup of tea, an hour before my "bedtime," and a whole lot of Delicious Indeed to catch up on! :goodvibes

Yeah, I like watching Carousel of Progress too, but it's just the perfect place to nap! I was just out cold. I liked the movement of the theater a lot!

It helps so much when the CMs ask if we're looking for anything in particular. I'm sure at this point they can tell! It works for Dani because she wasn't going to be back to WDW in a while, so whatever she wanted to trade had to be done then.

Yay Joni! That's okay that you haven't been here; haha, I haven't really been here this whole time either. Life just gets in the way! Hope you have fun catching up!

Wednesday, February 23: Cheese Sauce Love

With all that exploring of Tomorrowland and the fact that we had our early Columbia Harbour House lunch (with only Dole Whip floats as snacks), we were ready for dinner. We knew ahead of time that we were going to Pecos Bill. It was nice having everything planned, even the CS locations. In our pre-trip emails, I narrowed down the options based on things I knew personally and the reviews I had read, so Pecos Bill with the toppings bar was definitely an easy one. Yes, Cosmic Rays also has the toppings bar too, but I wanted to experience Pecos Bill! Plus, Cosmic Rays has creepy Sonny Eclipse. I'm sorry, but that thing is frightening!

The only bad thing is that Pecos Bill is in Frontierland, which means dealing with killer birds. I started filming too late, but those birds were maniacal! They definitely would've taken an eye out or something! We all had to quickly run through because they were getting so close! You can see that when I dipped the camera, a bird got abnormally close to us!

But moving on to the more positive things! Another fun thing about Pecos Bill that Cosmic Rays doesn't have are the kiosks for ordering! Of course, I had to record it on video because touch screen anything is so much fun! I know it's so much more commonplace now than it was when I was a kid, but what a great way to deal with crowds! We can stand there for as long as we want deciding on what to eat, and if the person at the kiosk behind us finishes first, they get their food first. No holding anyone up. Plus, seeing option in front of you like that can make decision easier.

You can see from the video that we both decided on the cheeseburgers. I was all ready for that because I wanted melted cheesy goodness in the form of bright yellow-ish orange cheese sauce! I also would've liked a Coke, but alas, Howard chose Sprite instead (which I didn't realize until we got the drink). I'm not supposed to have caffeine because I get palpitations from it, but I figured that since it was only 5pm, it would be hours until I would be going to sleep! Oh well. That Howard meddling and wanting to prevent me from getting palpitations~ haha.

We go our food, and we proceeded to the toppings bar! I knew there were onions too, but I wasn't that into it. I did take some though, and I'm glad I did! I thought the onions would be way too sauteed. If I'm having a burger, I want onions that are closer to raw! I think they just put this pan out more recently, so I don't know if they get heated and cooked longer if they're sitting there for some time. These were rather yummy though.

IMG_9281.jpg

I wonder what it's like to be the guy who cooks the onions behind the glass partition. I wonder if he even likes onions or if he's sick of them because he smells it often.

IMG_9286.jpg

It's not a RachelNinja TR if you don't see this ...

IMG_9283.jpg

I was hurriedly walking towards the cheese sauce! Wow, it really is hot! Haha, I know it says to be careful, but I didn't think it'd be that hot. Of course, it makes sense though so that the cheese stays at the proper consistency. I wanted this for my fries, but I ended up using it for my burger as well! I used the cheese sauce like Ray used ketchup. We Rays/Raes are just dippers.

IMG_9285.jpg

Oh man, the anticipation of eating a burger ... yum. I remember eating burgers from Disney a long time ago and hating them because at that time, burgers were NOT my thing. My family would stop by Wendy's on the drive down to Florida, and I would eat a baked potato. Now I have days when I just really want a cheeseburger. I'm so glad I grew accustomed to them so that I could devour mine in this picture! And I pretty much had 3 of the 4 cheese sauces there. And it's quite possible that I got up to get more ...

IMG_7218.jpg

I also liked the atmosphere and setting of the room we were in. It felt like we were eating outside without actually having to eat outside! Haha. Personally though, I do prefer more light when eating. I always think that a place isn't going to be as clean if it's not as bright in there.

IMG_7220.jpg

Dani and Ray ordered the other burger that had the BBQ sauce in it with the onion ring. They really enjoyed that too. I think it'd be something I might like if it weren't for the fact that there was CHEESE SAUCE. I can't stop thinking about it, haha. And look at the ketchup and mayo there ... like I said, Ray's a dipper too!

IMG_7221.jpg

Okay, okay, okay, enough with the pictures of food ...

IMG_7224.jpg

I distinctly remember not liking this place as a kid. I think we ate here a few times, but I HATED eating at Disney World!

IMG_7225.jpg

It just wasted time! And I was NEVER hungry. Now I've gotten to the point where I need time to rest as well as time to EAT! Snacks included!

IMG_7226.jpg

Of course, we laughed at the napkins and the slogan that I kept messing up.

IMG_7227.jpg

As you may have noticed, Nik didn't order anything from Pecos Bill. Nothing seemed to entice her, but the thought of a huge turkey leg DID. So I volunteered to go out to the cart with her so that she could have something to munch on. That proved to be a little difficult because of all the birds! We stayed under the Frontierland buildings for as long as we could before crossing over to the side closer to the water.

IMG_9290.jpg

This brings back memories of holding hot turkey legs in the heat as my dad paid. I remember one time at AK when we had the most delicious turkey leg ever. Thereafter, I was just never really a fan of it.

IMG_9291.jpg

This was the first I saw of the Disney brand of chips.

IMG_9292.jpg

I asked the CM for another piece of the wrapping to go on top of it so we could cover it before dashing back to the restaurant! Oh man, the birds were even worse then because we had food with us! At least we knew the turkey leg was protected and safe so that Nik could sit down and do this! She only ate a little bit of it, but Dani and Ray ate some too. That thing is humongous! And for me, that was the last picture I took that day. I don't remember if it was my battery or what, but I just didn't take anymore. That's why I'm glad Howard takes tons of pics too; between the two of us, we'll have most of the moments covered (although it makes doing trip reports a bit more difficult because I'm navigating two separate albums!).

As Nik finally had something to eat, I went back to devouring my own food. I actually finished it, haha. I don't usually finish my food when in Disney, but this trip, I was all about the food! Again, it was the cheese sauce ... ( some of those little cups were doubled because it was hot!).

Yum! Full of food, we were ready for more fun ... just a tame kind of fun! Where to next? Stay tuned!

First off, LOVE LOVE LOVE the TTA but I can't believe they put all five of you together! I like having plenty of room to relax and put my feet up.

Secondly, never have done Pecos Bills. I am not a dipper so no appeal there. The cheeseburger does look pretty good though!
