Never thought of bringing a crock pot but with the holiday pricing on food it's not a bad idea!!!
HUH...I have never heard this argument...really
the issue at hand is bringing appliances into ones room. toasters, crockpots, microwaves, etc...basically anylthing that can be a fire hazard and/or stink up the joint.
For the record...the narrarators do not ad-lib...I am pretty sure each follows the same script.....they do however get a few minutes at the end of the show to speak...its usually a thank you to everyone...I have never seen one give any type of personal views...but I have not been to every single CP offered

Stephen Curtis Chapman did a bit of personal stuff (very very brief) at the end when we were there, but given that he's a Christian singer, that was not at all surprising to me. And it certainly wasn't any kind of conversion thing.![]()

*I for one am very glad for this thread. I had read some about the CP and thought.. oh yea.. if we have time we'll have to try & fit that in. After reading this thred, I am booking the dinner/seats to make sure I don't miss it. It sounds very awesome and I'm very much looking forward to it.
hmmmmm....."Peace on Earth and Goodwill towards man...." I guess I can see why you would be offended by that. Gosh, if only the entire world would believe in those 2 principles, can you imagine the HORROR! Give me a break!
I'm always stumped when people say something like CP or it story "offends" them. I can understand it not mattering to someone, or just not to someone's tastes. But to say "offend"? People who abuse kids offend me, not someone who has particular religious or non-religious beliefs or preferences.

Please permit me to explain a little further why I posed the following question in my post #20 on page 2 of this thread: "Would you be offended if the narrator for the show you attended added a bit of their personal feelings of what Christmas means to them? If the answer to that question is "yes" then perhaps you should not attend the show."
Last year as we lined up to check in for a lunch ADR at an EPCOT restaurant I heard a woman louding complaining to her friends about the previous night's CP. (Our CPP was also the previous night.) Her words were something to the effect that "he (the narrator) had the nerve to say that without the birth of Jesus Christ we would not have a reason to celebrate Christmas! Doesn't Disney know anything about political correctness? How could they have a show like that!" It made me really sad, she just didn't have any idea what the CP would be before making the decision to attend. And because it was completely foreign to her belief system she was greatly offended. If I had thought that there was any way I could have spoken a few words to her that would not have offended her further I would have, but I really don't think she would have been ready to hear me.
Enjoy the holidays in whatever way/s suit/s you. Our family will be celebrating CHRISTmas.
We are not a religious family at all, but are looking forward to attending this. As someone said, you can look at it from a cultural and historical standpoint and appreciate it from that angle. For example, my in-laws are Buddist, but celebrate Christmas as part of the American culture. I don't really "get" being offended by different religions, but that's me. I can appreciate all kinds of music and beliefs and that is the approach I choose to take.
Anyway, the narrator for our show is a Christian singer so I absolutely know he will add his own thoughts to the evening. I'm just hoping my DS5, doesn't get bored as that's probably my biggest concern.
