Delicate question about the Candlelight Processional Show

If you are going to a Christmas show like the Candlelight Processional, expect it to be religious...Does anyone remember the uproar last year when it was announced that Kirk Cameron was going to Sub in for one of the other narrators ( he didn't end up doing it)? It was almost comical that people got riled up because a really devout Christian was going to read at a Christian program.I have even overheard complaints about Stephen Curtis Chapman last year.

I don't think there was an uproar or people getting "riled up" over Kirk Cameron because he's a devout Christian. There was some mild grumbling because he happens to be nutty, is all.

There were quite a few people that had their knickers in a twist, and the mods removed several of the posts. He may be nutty, but there some people that were very upset and offended.

That's just silly. Remove all the nutty entertainers, and there won't be many left!

I wonder what would happen if Mel Gibson was named CP narrator. ;)

So let me get this straight...people were getting all bent out of shape because a celebrity who is religious, was reading at a religious program?? Are we really sure Kirk Cameron is the nutty one??

I honestly don't get being offended by another person's religion. I thought that was only Osama's beef. :confused3

To be fair, Kirk Cameron is pretty extreme in even the Evangelical circuit.

It reminded me quite clearly that all the hype of the holiday is not really important. The Story is the important thing. For those of you who are not Christian it will simply be a beautiful and well produced show. Go and enjoy! It is well worth it. If you feel you will be offended - don't go.You can always go to the show at MK during the MVMCP which is totally not religious.

I agree with this. My family is Jewish, but we went to the show and thought it was beautiful and very well done. We just really appreciated the lovely presentation of the music. If it's not your thing, regardless of your religion, it's really easy not to go--far easier than it is to go, in fact. SCC was the narrator when we went, and he was quite good. It was evident that the story meant a lot to him.
