I've never been one to tip for advice. This isn't vegas and they aren't really giving you free tickets or anything, it's in their daily job to help you book things, make fastpasses, and reserve tables etc. But it is a rule of thumb to tip "mousekeeping" a dollar per person in your room a day.

If you ask the concierge for directions to a restaurant, or simple questions a tip is not necessary.

If they:
- Get you simple reservations at a local restaurant $3-5, - this is something you can do
- Get you reservations at a fully booked restaurant $5-10 - this is not something you could do.
- Get you tickets to a sold out show (eg: Beatles) - $50++ - they do the seemingly impossible.

The harder the task, the better the tip.

This link to Trip advisor has a very good breakdown of US tipping practices, and when to or not to tip.

The concierge at DLR hotels (also Guest Services and Registration) do not accept tips.
Servers in the concierge lounge do accept tips.

Because most Disney workers can't accept tips I'm bringing small goodies instead (in from Hawaii so probably.chocolate covered macadamia nuts). I will tip housekeeping and wait stadd

Don't forget that a great tip for CMs is to leave a CM compliment at City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, or online. Be specific (date, time, location, CM name and description, and exactly what the CM did to make magic for you). The compliment will be sent to the CM's supervisor and a copy will go in his/her file.

When we stayed at DLH last year, I tipped the front desk staff twice.

The first time was because the guy at the front managed to get us on a sightseeing tour 15 minutes before the tour was due to leave, the second because the girl at the front was able to get me a table for 7 at Surfs Up when reservations told me they couldn't fit us in.

From memory I tipped $5 each. They didn't mention anything about not being allowed to accept tips.
