I'm in for your TR ArielRae! popcorn:: :cool1:

And HOW. COOL. on your eyes for your windshield! Instructions??? (If you don't mind me copying!) We have a vinyl windshield cover...I wonder if I could figure something out to use on that?

This was where I started going through packing list at least daily. I think I checked the air pressure in the tires at least 5 times. I think I even slept in the camper one of those nights. Great time to be excited.

This sounds like me, :rotfl2:
We're still in double digits and I may have tended to start driving my DW crazy bout 2 months ago with count down.

Started packing the RV yesterday will continue to do so today. Don't mind doing it but when it is 40 degrees out and your going back and forth from the house to the RV million times it really stinks.

Keep looking forward to where that RV is going to end up.

Right now low 80s here in FL. We have some sun reserved for you.

Have a safe trip.

Be glad you dont leave for your trip on January 4th. Its a little brr, but I use a laundry basket and fill it each trip (works great for small food items and such.) But all worth it int the end when we finally pull away for the 2 week adventure and relaxation away from work.

Last day to get everything packed. We leave early tomorrow morning. Don't you know it DS has started sneezing and coughing. Hopefully it is just some allergy and not a cold coming on. :worried:

Get him on something to help clear it out and beat it before it becomes full on cold. With all this wacky temp swings lately, I am not surprised.

I am open to any recommendations on what I could give him.

Lots of fluids, load up on vitamin C, take some zinc (like Zicam), use a neti pot, get lots of rest, and get some fresh air too. And the rest of you who aren't feeling scratchy yet - load up on vitamin C and fluids and get plenty of rest and fresh air, use listerine every day and wash your hands frequently.

I hope you guys nip this thing in the bud!

And yeah, packing and prepping for winter trips is harder because of the cold and the darkness...but so worth it when you're headed south!!! :cool1:

I found emergenC affective at warding off, but not sure about the dose for younger ones. Vitamins and fluids are great, even a half dose of daytime cold medicine to help get ahead of clearing out whatever is building up as worked. Its all really about timing. If the cold hits hard, fluids and sleep on the ride will help I am sure.

Thanks for the advice. Right now he gets Pediasure every night for his vitamins. We have herbal medicine for his cold symptoms. We give Hyland's Nighttime Cold 'n Cough 4 Kids Liquid at night and we have the day time version too.

It is funny while waiting for DS's bus bringing him home I couldn't help believing we will be leaving in a little over 12hrs.

November 2nd - We are on our way!!!

This morning we left shortly after 3am. DH crawled in to DS's bed trying to wake him up but DS just rolled over and got comfortable.

Finally got him up and dressed once his grandparents showed up. Had heavy fog this morning which may account for all the accidents we saw. First we saw a deer accident in Maryland that totaled a car. Looked like it flipped a few times after hitting it. We took the inner loop over the bridge bypassing the Baltimore tunnel. DH decided to chance driving thru DC taking the scenic route since it was 6am when we got to that point. Saw the capital and Washington monument all lit up. It paid off with no traffic and got us ahead of when we were expecting to pass DC. We happen to see another accident going thru DC where a car was in the woods on its side. We made a few rest stop now and then.

DS napped 10:30 - 11:30 and like usual not happy waking up still in his car seat. So we were by J"R so we stopped grabbed some nachos and did some window shopping. For a son that has never asks for anything when we are out wanted everything in the store. Finally left there and was passing South of the Boarder at 1:30.

Saw yet another accident at 2:30 not sure where we were then but wow that is a lot of accidents. We usually see 1 accident and 1 burnt car but so far 3 accident no burnt cars. 4:00pm we stopped for gas and grabbed some Hardee's dinner that was next to the gas station. First time having Hardee's and it wasn't bad. Got to see a lady walk out with a bag of food without paying. Finally back on the road and saw another car drive by us with a NJ license plate and a WDW oval sticker in the window and couldn't help but smile. Another person from NJ headed down for Jersey week.

We finally made it to Jacksonville at 7:00pm we planned on staying at the comfort suites there as DH loves staying at that hotel company. Well we arrive coupon in hand like we have always done and guess what no room at the inn for us. Apparently there is some Florida game going on. Sorry I don't know what is and that I don't know about it fans of this event. We have never had a problem getting a room but since this our first time coming down this week we learned for next time to call ahead. So we are at the Quality Inn across the street cause it is the only hotel in the area with any rooms left. On top of everything I had to run back out to the RV to get DS's toys and in that time short time I was to the car in back DH decided it was a good time to bath DS and himself so I come back to not only the room locked but the hotel bar across. So I knock on the door. Then bang on the door. Finally I am screaming thru the opening hoping he would let me in. Almost 10min later he sees the grocery bag I have slid in the door and let's me in. You know he got a good ear full from me about locking me out and why he thought that moment was good time to wash DS.

So now everyone is good hugs around so exhausted which doesn't help. Told parents to meet us in the lobby for breakfast at 6:00am so we can be on the road early and to Disney.

Random DH pic.

So total time on the road was about 16hrs

November 3rd - We have arrived!

Everyone was awake and out the door this morning at 5:30am. Had some hotel breakfast and on the road by 6:30am. We like going the back way into the fort taking exit 68 off I4. We don't get to go thru the Disney gates but we do drive by the ones for DTD.

We arrived at the fort a little after 9:00am. Our campsite and cabin weren't ready yet so we organized the RV and then headed out to DTD to get our Military Salute cards activated.
image_zps33aabdcf.jpg

It was about a 20/30min wait to get that done. The rest of the family came and went while I waited in the line. Little after 11:00am we had lunch at Wolfgang pucks. Then we toured the stores for a while. Still hadn't got the text that our site was ready so told DH to head back to RV while we got DS his DAS card from the MK guest services. DS slept until it was his turn to get his picture taken for the card and woke up grumpy so it isn't a great pic of him but it is a pic they need so they got it. So then we headed back to the fort by boat. We hung out at the RV for a while. Then I remembered I didn't get the stroller as a wheelchair tag. So DH and I went to go get that and dinner. We got the Giddy Up and Go family chicken meal and ate it at the cabin. Have to say those cabins are really nice. My parents are really impressed. After dinner we took a trip to the meadows store to look around and get a few food items. After that we called it a night. Tomorrow we have our first park day AK.
