Delayed in gatwick

Been delayed in gatwick for nearly 6 hours with no sign of leaving! It seems Thomas Cook have problems today as there are a lot of their flights delayed! Any advice??

Check your travel insurance - you should get some money for delays over a certain number of hours.

I think technically you could ask for a full refund and walk away now but that doesn't help you get to Florida! They should be providing you with food and drinks.

they should provide food and drink or vouchers for you to purchase food & drink yourself...

have you asked what the problem is?

Thanks for your replies. Yes we have had £6.00 each for food and drink which we are grateful of, they have said there is a technical fault with our plane and have had a part flown in and it is being dealt with now but they don't know if it will fix the problem!

Other flight just have delayed because of incoming aircraft being late

A couple of years back we had a 20 hour delay with Virgin - If the delay goes on any longer they will give you additional vouchers for dinner.

I feel your pain nothing worse than people around you spouting on about compensation - unfortunately things like this happen and if something is wrong with the plane.... you don't want to be on it!

From my experience with Virgin (although stressful) they do their absolute best we each ended up with the £6 + £12 + Overnight in Hilton + Breakfast.

When we were back home I was able to claim the compensation that is £25 for every 8 hours so £50 Compensation + 25,000 Airmiles. We used our compensation as deposit for our next trip!

You can on the new virgin airbus planes I could connect my iPhone to the plane and subject to roaming charges, you can call, text and use the Internet as normal!!
