Delayed at Castaway Cay

Thanks so much for this information. We are supposed to be there on Tuesday and Thursday next week. Please keep us updated if you can.

Ugh, we are cruising with a 1.5 year old in Feb so clearly she can’t be vaccinated. If they aren’t going to let us go to Castaway I don’t see it being worth it for us to go on the trip

This is specific to these sailings and a February is a long way off. That being said, everyone sailing has to realize with increasing covid numbers on land, ships are going to have the same issues. I’m not happy with this cruise, but I knew it could possibly happen.

Unfortunately, we are the next sailing of the Magic leaving Miami on Monday so this could very likely have an impact on us, particularly if it is crew related.

Just seems like Disney would have worked something out to allow an exemption for CC. Unless Disney just doesn't have the crew in place to allow them to dock and provide the service needed on the island...

The Bahamas used to allow exemption to lines for the private islands, but removed that exemption in August/September.

A lot of locals help staff and run the concession there, so the Bahamas have not allowed exception since.

oh got it. Based on some tweets I thought it might be a long term issue based on new Covid rules.MSC wasn’t allowed to go to their island yesterday

Expect huge delays if not outright refusal for Bahamian clearance times for ships, not just DCL. Right now crew members are being rerouted/rescheduled from private island contracts if arriving by ship in light of recent restrictions

Actually, the Bahamas government was not letting any guests off at private islands for any of the cruise lines yesterday. The crate excuse was just Disney putting lipstick on a pig. All lines were given the all-clear eventually.
Yeah I was wondering about that. Several reports of other lines being delayed from their private
islands. I thought it was too much of a coincidence. Probably checking and double checking any
cases. I wonder if in the future before you step foot on the island you have to take a test.

Is any ship at CC today? Is the fantasy supposed to be there today or tomorrow(Saturday)?

The Fantasy should be there tomorrow (Saturday). I don't know if any ship was scheduled at CC today.

According to Marine Tracker, no ships were scheduled to be at Castaway Cay on December 31. The Fantasy is scheduled to be there today and, in fact, arrived at 07h12.
