Am booked at the Del Sol Inn through Get Away Today for August 3-7. Really trying to save money, but am wondering if it would be worthwhile to spend an extra $150-200 for a different hotel (HOJO? Other?) for the four nights? (Just me & DD, age 10) Anyone have any experience with the Del Sol?

Been a few years since we started there.

They have a breakfast but not a whole lot of selection.

Nothing special just a place to sleep and shower.
It was clean just an old hotel.

I would stay there again but we spend all our time in the parks. And really u can't beat the location

It's a great location and adequate, nothing special. We were put in a large two-room suite even though we had only booked a regular room for two people.

Parking is a pain but I believe they'll help you if you can't find an open space. They will make you move your car on checkout day even if you offer to pay for another day of parking. I would stay there again for convenience if it had one if thr best lrices in the area.

Echoing what's already been said: super convenient, clean, comfortable and we've found the staff to be super helpful and friendly. I and my family would have no problem staying there again. We never have a car, though, so we may avoid the biggest inconvenience of staying there.

Thanks for the feedback. We are not driving, so parking is not an issue. What is the pool like? Traveling with a 10-yr-old means there must be pool time. (That's the thing that's making me think it might be worth the extra $170 for HOJO.)

I stayed there for one night last year and the room I had was dark and depressing. It was a king room with a sofa and there were awful stains on the sofa that grossed me out. The rest of the room was clean though. The pool is very small. I have also stayed at Hojo with my son who was 7 at the time and I would choose Hojo again in a heartbeat. The rooms there are much brighter and cheerier plus the pool and splash areas are super fun. The walk is a bit further to Hojo, but you pass by McDonald's and Panera which is convenient if you need a quick snack.

We just stayed at the Del Sol in March. We found it close, clean and comfortable. The pool is just a basic pool but my kids had a blast playing in it. Breakfast was nothing exciting, but filled the tummy (and I didn't have to prepare it :yay:). This is where we will be staying when we return in 2018!

Have a magical time!

We have stayed there once in the past and plan on staying there on our next trip.

Pros: Inexpensive compared to other Harbor motels (especially ones that have rooms to accommodate six people), very close, decent rooms, continental breakfast, any interaction with staff was fine.

Cons: Parking is super tight, breakfast is basically some fruit, danishes, and cold cereal, pool is very small.

For us, we wouldn't stay there if it weren't for the location, but it works well for us being so close with four kids, two of them very young.
