I just experienced the strangest thing. I'd never read the thread that is a request for pixie dust and prayers until a few minutes ago. I recognized only a small handfull of names there, but as I was reading some of the posts, one in particular stood out. A man I was unfamiliar with had written the kindest and most compassionate post to another Diser in an attempt to offer comfort and encouragement. As I read, tears streamed down my face and I felt compelled to send a P.M. to tell him how much his message touched me. This is when I made a discovery that made me reel. The kind man was none other than FLORIDACAT!!! I'm so sorry that I never had opportunity to know him here on the boards. But I do feel such incidents as this show that it's true..... one really can live on through the things he leaves behind. It doesn't always have to be through your children, it can be a treasure you've left to be enjoyed or kind deeds that will be remembered. :flower2:

So true, ilovepcot. I recall some very comforting thoughts Roy said to people here, on that thread and others. He will be missed, a lot. Marie made a statement here once, similar to what you said above there, and I have had it as a quote from her in my signature since, so true it is.

I didn't know FloridaCat very much, but he struck me as a very kind, compassionate man. His family remain in my prayers.

Can you provide a link? I didn't know Floridacat, but would like to rejoice in his kindness for a moment too. :)

Yes, he was a very kind man. I never saw him write anything negative. Before he got sick, he used to post a very inclusive weather report on the WL faq thread (resorts brd) every day or two. He was concerned that the all the folks traveling down to FL would know what type of clothes to bring.

Snoopy, I don't have a link right off for that particular post. In fact, I don't even know what page it was on. Attempted a search to locate it for you but kept getting "server is too busy". If I locate it, will be glad to send you a P.M. with the info. :teeth:

I'm even having difficulty posting this message.....server is loaded down!
