Deep Fried Pickles

Love them but haven't had them in years (since I gave up eggs/dairy). I really need a good vegan fried pickle recipe...

I have always loved pickles, but hadn't had a fried pickle until relatively recently. (We don't normally order appetizers.) OMG. I think I could eat my weight in those!

I prefer the pickle chips to spears except for the Carnation Cafe ones in Disneyland, which were so good!!

I agree. I think it is because it is not the entire pickle spear, they seem to cut the spear smaller. I prefer these to chips other places.

I resisted trying them for the longest time because the idea of deep frying a pickle didn't seem appetizing to me.

Then someone else ordered them at a restaurant, and I tried one. And now I love them.

Of course, not all fried pickles are created equal. Some places make them way better than others.

I am usually not a picky eater and I love pickles, but I have tried them several times and decided I just didn't like them.

I've never had them but I don't like fried food and am not much of a pickle fan so I doubt I'd like them.

Absolutely love them. I judge ice hockey rinks by how good their fried pickles are, and if they have a dipping sauce, how good that is.

I love fried pickles! I don't get them often because most of my family won't eat them and I definitely don't need to eat them all myself! We're headed to DL next weekend so I do see an order of fried pickles at the Carnation Cafe in my near future though....

This post has had me thinking about bad foods from my childhood for days now. I may have to go out tonight for fried pickles and potato skins or something, and I don't even think potato skins exist anymore!

Oooh, I love potato skins! If you can't find real ones, check the grocery store - Uno's makes a boxed version of their potato skins appetizer. It's kind of like the "stuffing" of potato skins in a pizza crust.

I'm vegan and I have found that when I inquire about ingredients most deep fried pickles and onion rings are vegan. Not all but most. Just ask!

Chips, slices, or spears, it's all good. But, one local place makes them real greasy. DW loves them, but I'm not a fan (same for their cheese fries). She always wants to split an order ther - nah, they're all yours LOL

Yeah, but the comparable local ones all have them here as well - our local bowling alley makes GREAT potato skins

These have arrived in the UK now. Had them in the local pub in Southern England. Absolutely delicious. Can't wait for my next trip to Orlando
