Dedicated studios at OKW or BCV?

Are there any dedicated studios (not connected to a one bedroom unit) at either OKW or Beach Club Villas? If so, How do they differ in room arrangement from the connected studios?

both OKW and BCV have dedicated studios - however in the 9 years that I have visited OKW - only on my first trip did I get the dedicated studio in building 26.

BCV seems to have several.

difference there is not a connecting door - so they are generally quieter.

the OKW dedicated was alot bigger than the lock-outs I have since stayed in....

I've only stayed in one studio at BCV and it was dedicated so I can't compare. Room #339. Also, dedicated-#555,#540,#539, #561 (I think).

Ok... When you reserve 2br dedicated, you get this as a "guarantee", not a "request". Does this work the same way with the studios? Can I change my studio res for Feb to a dedicated studio, if there is availability and get a "guaranteed dedicated studio"? The reason that I ask, is that I have a ds who will 23 months when travel next. I would like to not have to worry as much about him waking any neighbors that may or may not be next door in the 1br.

i have in my notes that OKW has 226 lock-off studios only. no dedicated studios.

if there are dedicated studios at OKW, how many are there?
i'd like to update my notes.

Here is a list I have been keeping of BCV rooms. It is in no way complete but many of the studios have notes as to D(Dedicated) or L(Lockoff).

As others have said, asking for a specific room and getting it is slime. This will give you an idea of “sectional views”.

The public offering statement I have from 1999 says no dedicated studios or 1 bedrooms at OKW, but some have posted that they had one. Maybe they were closed off during renovations and changed to dedicated for some reason.

This isn't a big deal, but the dedicated studios at BCV have a smaller entranceway than the lock offs. The lock offs have a shelf thing when you come in, but the dedicateds do not, you just go straight into the room. I've heard comments about how handy this shelf is, and just wanted to mention that the dedicated BCV studios don't have this extra little area.

Still, I'd take the quiet over the extra shelf.

on my first trip in 93 I got a dedicated studio in building 26 - it was twice as large (or almost) as the lock studio I have had since - this was a golf view

now this might be the only one that OKW that - I didn't write the room down - then I didn't think it was important - now I know it was. It was at the end of the building - the end pointing toward the golf course not the bus stop.

I have tried for a dedicated studio several time but I have not been lucky since - or maybe there aren't any dedicated studios with the water view (my favorite) - they may just be with the golf view.

Speaking of lock-off - has anyone else had this problem with housekeeping and bell services - they want to get into the 1-bedroom next door - they aren't there and they start bothering you - this has happened on my last couple of trips - if it doesn't stop I am taking names and calling MS and the the front desk.

It is bad enough when housekeeping tries to get everyone to leave early as is - I didn't even know these people in the next room.

By chance was it handicapped? I wonder why they would have a larger room. I thought all the floor plans were the same. I had a 1 bedroom in 26 on the 2nd floor on the golf end and it was the same as the other ones I've stayed in.

no it was not handicapped - the bathroom was really big and at a very strange angle.

the one handicapped room I had - the room seemed or was smaller.
