I read in one of my Disney travel manuals that some guests often decorate their windows and doors. Plus, it mentioned that Mousekeepers will often get in on the fun, as well.

I'd love to read about your experiences or ideas.

I really love making decorations for our door. I make sure they are tasteful and not gaudy or over the top (seen that....not for me). We will be there for Halloween, so I got 3-d scrapbooking stickers and themed paper to stick them on. This year I found Mickey in a graveyard my a haunted house. I used darker purple paper and it turned out great. Then I cut out a purple Mickey head and added bat wings. Orange Mickey heads serve as pumpkins. The whole scene is about 5x7, so not too large. I've done the same kind of thing with a Christmas theme and with a pirate theme. For us, they set a mood, but practically speaking, they help us know which door is ours after a long day at the parks. Room numbers get hard

Rules at DVC resorts are that decorations should not be seen from the outside of the villa to detract from the look of the villas. So nothing on the door and nothing on the porches, patios or balconies.

We'll be staying at Port of Orleans Riverside immediately following Christmas.

Yesterday, I found two small garden flags for $1.50 each. I picked one of Mickey and Minnie, saying "Welcome" and the other is a Tinkerbell "Believe". I plan on using those.

I also figure that I'll find some window clings, etc.

Now, we're pranksters of sorts, and I'm also trying to find ways to keep my thirteen year-old in the Disney spirit. She has the Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and Bullseye dolls, along with Mickey & Minnie. We were thinking about taking those and setting up silly little displays or scenarios in the windows and room(sort of like the Elf on the Shelf).

Thanks for directing me to that link. Some of those decorations are outstanding.
