Decorating your resort room?

If I wanted to decorate my door will it be Magnetic at BWI??? And the window clings are there good decorating windows or would this only be at the values??

Do you guys put your lights on a timer or just turn them off and on when you leave? What is the "rule" regarding lights on the windows? I am interested in doing this - I have never done it before but it looks like a lot of fun.

I've always used a timer for our lights.

I've never used a timer. When we go out at night we always know that we'll be back late. It looks pretty when your coming home from the parks.
The kids love it. This year it'll be halloween colors.

I didn't want to search thru this whole thread- but does anyone know about the AKL and decorating there? I know the doors are wooden so I don't know if I can decorate it?

I ususally decorate with Christmas lights, Especially so the kids can find our rooms.. LOL

Makes it easy..

i went there for breakfast(at Boma) this past monday i looked around i didnt see many people that decorated probably because it was so pretty and natural they didnt want to ruin it

i decorated my window and door(i was at coranodo springs) when i was down there this past week but there wasnt many decorated there untill i decorated then they took some of the mickey heads and put them on their windows except for one other room they had a peice of paper taped the first day then they drew on the window with window chalk

i saddly do not have any pictures
this is because my dad sis and i went to typhoon lagoon and my mom stayed back at the resort and took all the decorations so i have no pics what so ever and tips for others that go to coranodo springs the windows are sectioned into 4x4 blocks and are decently big so bring more than normal

The Disney store has vinyl Mickey shower curtains on clearance for $9.99. I thought you could maybe cut out the mouse & use it on your window!!

Didn't Home Depot Have paint samples that were Mickey shaped, or was that my imagination? I went to HD Saturday and they had the regualr square ones and they had some shaped like Mickey heads but they were on cards, not just shaped like Mickey. Am I nuts?

I had the same experience - when i went

There actually were very few mickey heads, They were mostly square samples

I've never seen any shaped just like Mickey - there all on cards (as far as I know). Some people cut the head out.

Someone had asked about the lights...this was the first time I used them. I was worried about leaving them on too long. (images of a fire during my trip haunted me ) I would plug them in when we got back to the room then unplugged them.

The lights since have been used for parties in my basement with my son. Next trip, I will probably use a timer or turn them on when we are in the room early evening. It is nice to see them on when we return to our room.
