Decorating your resort room?

Are the doors at AKL metal or would I have to tape stuff to the door?
ETA: does anyone have any pics to post from AKL?

I'm not sure if the doors are metal or not, but I do know that they have a big African shield on them, which takes up a lot of room. I'll look to see if I have a picture...

Thanks so much for this thread. I never even thought of decorating before. We are leaving in 14 days for BWV. We went to HD today and guess what - NO green mickey head chips. They had plenty of all the other colors but no green. My daughter and I laughed so hard knowing another fan had been there first.

We drove to a second HD nearby (thank god we live in NJ!) and they were stocked up. I'm excited to be showing off my AGMHPC's for the first time!!!

This will be our third year at Disney. I have never decorated our room, but this thread is addictive and now I want too. We will be staying at POP and last year we saw some really cute windows.

I really would like to put a sign on the door with LGMHs and ask that other DIS'ers sign them. Does anyone know if this is allowed? I would have to tape it to the door.

By the way, we will be at POP September 5-12. Hope to see some of you there.

also, I just found a picture of a CSR window and it has those lines going through it???
Do all the rooms have that???
I just got back from buying all my supplies to decorate my window and if those lines are on my window its going to ruin everything.

Unfortunately, I think all the moderates have those type of windows? I know that CS does. The values are solid glass.

My mom just got off the phone with disney, they said that as long a you dont hammer anything in the walls that decorating the room is fine. So decorate on!!

The multiple panes messed with my decoration plans too.

I ended up putting my message and LGMH on a poster board cut into fourths. I will punch a hole in the top and hang the sign from a hook. I think my signs will just fit between the panes without blocking anything.

Also have my clings and Hundred Acre Wood friends packed and ready to go. If you are going after August 23 I would be happy to measure the amount of glass between the pane lines. Please pm me though b/c I might lose track of this thread. I have trouble finding my way around this board sometimes.

I scoured our local Dollar Stores a few weeks ago but didn't find anything...BTW I am in Texas we have Hobby Lobby, Garden Ridge, Dollar General, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar...Party City, Walmart, Target....

We decorated our resort room last December and I found clings at Dollar Tree, in addition to that I brought along a small 3 ft tree and made decorations for it. Even made a tree skirt from fleece and had little Disney stocking for everyone. I also made fabric bags with drawstring closures from Disney Christmas fabric I found, then I put a few small presents, like Disney t-shirts, things that would all fit in a shirt box. Then I put them under the tree for Christmas morning. Making the bags gave them extra packing for the trip home, we drove so even tho we were crowded, airline rules was not an issue.

I even had some decorations I put on the walls that did not make holes or mar any surface. I also wired together three wreaths to make my own Mickey wreath to hand on the door, using one of the metal over the door hangers of course.

I had just as much fun planning my decorations as I did planning my trip.

I went to a huge flea market this weekend and they had lots of disney wondow clings. I got some cute mickey and minnie and one goofy. I am so excited. I already made a bunch of mickey heads from cling film I got at micheals.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet - only half way through reading all the posts --- How about those foam door knob hangers from Michaels/craft stores- I'm thinking there has to be lime green ones -- All this reminds me of our family sign and lights that we use for camping. Great ideas!

I found Cars, Pooh, and Princess Window Clings in Dollar Trees near us (in PA). Also in the DT I found small figures about 2in tall of Pooh and friends, Nemo, Princesses (and BRAND NEW!!!) Villans! I was so excited!

I also have a Mickey Pumpkin that lights up that I will dig out from out Halloween stuff to bring down (my dh is goping to kill me!).

I also found at Ollie's Outlet a HUGE Wall Deocration that I will find someway to hang in the window....it's Cars, but they also have Princess (can you tell I have boys!)
