Haven't read this thread in a while so I am back reading. I love all the new ideas! I can't believe I stayed away so long. Not going to let that happen again!

AristaCats- That window was amazing. You did an awesome job.
I also have a cricut and love it.

OMG, I just loaded up on HD Mickey Heads. I was trying to look nonchalant, but how can you look nonchalant when you're stacking up Mickey Heads by the dozens???? I was terrified, my heart pounding, waiting for the hand to fall upon my shoulder as I was pretending to consider my "decorating scheme" of Alien Lime Green and Mickey Pants Red. Of course I had to have trim colors of Princess Purple and Sorceror's Hat. My pockets were bulging with the darn things and I tried to make it look like I was painting something REALLY big, also considering paint brushes, stirrers, etc. I skulked out of there through the outdoor garden section, resisting the urge to look back over my shoulder and fairly sprinted to my car. I would never make a thief...

Very cute!

Okay I have a dumb question. What is a cricut? It is hard to use? Where do you find it? thanks

its a wonderful machine that will make cut outs of letters and diecuts and DISNEY characters and you can find it at places like Michael's, Hobby Lobby and QVC. I think the site is www.crucuit.com that can show more :)

Exactly what kind of paper do you use to make window clings?

Okay silly question. Are the doors at AKL metal and therefore can you attach magnets to them. Thanks

I'd like to know this as well...I bought what I believed to be the correct stuff @Office Depot but after I got home I started to have second thoughts because the package says Window Decals....

I got my "clear window decals" from Staples. The next word says "repositionable" so I say they are window clings because you can place them again and again on any smooth glass surface.

OK, so I went by Home Depot to get a few Mickey heads. All, the while my 7 year old was saying "Mom, why are you taking all those mickey heads" - I was like "Shhhh, I'll tell ya when we get in the car". I does feel a little weird taking those "free" little things!!! :eek:

:thanks:
I'd run there today but they are closed on Sunday :sad1:
How long ago did you get it?
Did you have to cut it to fit the window (we are staying @Pop!?!?!)
Sorry for 20 questions....:guilty:

I havent even gotten to use it yet. Mainly because either trips are too short or staying at a DVC (no big windows other than sliding doors). I got it back in April. I think that pic that you used was at Pop... If I can put my hand on it today I can look at the measurements and see if its something that needs to be cut out etc.

its 65 inches tall... and 2 panels (each 33.5 inches), you need to line them up. No cutting needed. It says you can stick with amscan sticky tack, tape or adhesive of choice.

the panel is transparent except for where the castle is

We just did the window when we stayed at ASMu last year, my girls did all of the decorating...we put 'our first trip to disney!' and clover stickers (our first day was St. Patty's Day) :)

I love the idea of getting signatures, do you just use doublestick tape to hang, or poster stuff? Just curious. We have 2 years before we'll be back in WDW, but I'm always looking for fun ideas :)

We use markers all the time, make sure you clean it up before you leave! (the CRAYOLA kind comes clean with a wet wash cloth! it was soo easy!!)

As far as a door sign, I decorate a posterboard with whatever our theme is and then I leave it blank in the middle for people to sign their names on! I attach a marker to the door with a string and tape :) :)

I also make a mini calendar and put it on my door with info on where we are going! IT says:

Today the XXX family is in:

MONDAY
======
Magic Kingdom

Tuesday
========
Typhoon LAgoon

Or something like that! It's really neat to have people write on our door that they were at the same park that day or something like that!! :laughing:

Everyone's decorating is wonderful, I just have 2 questions. What is the big thing about the HD mickey heads. Do they stick or what??? We don't have a HD close the closed is 1 hour away. Next, On the doors do you use magnets or how do you keep your decorations on them?? I know stupid questions but their mine. :rotfl:
TIA,
Michelle
