Decorating your resort room?

Well I just got back from our Home Depot and they DON'T have the Mickey head paint samples!!!!! They don't carry the paint!

I looked on Home Depot's website and they still show they carry the Disney paint.

I'm back from my trip and look how I decorated my daughter's door and window. She loved it. The weather made it kindoff warp, but it still looked nice. Check it out. All the threads with all the stuff made all this possible. Especially the designs everyone makes. They are awsome. Thanks so much. So I hope you love my door and windows, I'm still thinking i'm back at my happy place, but i'm at home... Sigh...

Looks great! I have to get myself motivated here and figure out what I'm going to do for our window on our next trip. Beautiful job! ;)

I may make some enimies here, but I have to speak my mind on this topic. I stumbled across this thread thinking it would be cute to decorate our room and I am shocked. Maybe I am missed something, I have not read all 82 pages but I don't get it. For people who read these boards it is a sin to pool hop, but it is ok to take 240 paint samples, fill your pockets with them, or have your kids take them for you. Sure, maybe they cost practically nothing to make, but if every diser took 240, it adds up. Am I the only one who thinks this is wrong?

Nope, I'm right there with you.

Somebody is paying somebody to produce and ship those samples, so somebody is paying for those buldging pockets.

They're free because the intent is for you to take them home, and see whether that's the color paint you intend to buy from Home Depot.

I refuse to teach my kids that because something doesn't cost a lot to manufacture, it's OK to take as many as you want. Take one or two to keep your toddlers occupied while you shop at Home Depot. Or take one and use it as a template so you can make others. But I personally think that stocking up on them is wrong. (And, no, I don't take any.)

I am having trouble finding Christmas lights (string) to decorate our room window with this time of year. Any suggestions where I can look? Online? I really wanted purple, pink, blue...not Christmasy colors.
:thanks:

Try a party store and see if they have anything... or try online (google sites to see if they have them)

What about resorts like AKL. Do you just decorate the door. I don't think there is a window - only a balcony? What have others done?

YOu can still do the door to your room, or the sliding glass doors. Not sure if the resort welcome decor on the balconies themselves. :confused3

This is so great. I never thought of decorating the door or windows.

How exciting.... I'll have to do this for our trip in September.

Wow great job on your decorating! I love them all! How did you make the Mickey boarder on the first window?

I am sure it made it even more magical for your daughter!
