Decorating your resort room?

i've got to go into the garage tonite and get the christmas lights out!!! and then go through our halloween decor!!

My home depot is out of them. I was there last week and took about 20 but I left a lot. If I had known they were going to dissappear so fast (those disners! LOL) I would have taken a lot more! HA! HA! I will continue to go back to get mine. My adult children already think I am addicted (is there a better addiction?). What will they think when I tell them i am going to decorate our room?! HA!

Aug 12 and saw some windows, all on the 2nd floor, decorated with flowers and POP sayings, was any of YOU all there? It was a whole row of rooms, and looked neat! I believe it was done with some sort of paint or chalk, not sure, but it was there the 3 days I was there.

My husband is getting into the window decorating!! i've converted him!! Now if only i could get hime to DIS while he was at work...we'd be all set!!

ok I have to ask! What department do you get them in in home Depot?? I have never seen them and on the other hand I honestly wasn't looking! I am due for another Home Depot trip this week and now how will I ever explain this to DH?? Honey, I have to go and get some green Mickey heads!!!! The man is already convinced I am crazy and is very concerned with my attachment to this site!!!

DH will learn to live with DIS as I learned to live with his laundry!

Thanks I can't wait to go to Home Depot now and finish off one of the 50 porjects I have going around here!

My fiance thinks I am nuts as well for all the time I spend on these boards and getting all the decorations ready for our December trip. I think he is realizing though how much effort is needed to plan a great trip to Disney...this will be his 2nd time in Disney. His first was staying offsite and poorly planned...thanks to his ex!!!

DFi even stopped at a 2nd HD store with me to get more LGMHs...his idea!!!

At Michaels i used the 40% off coupon that was in sundays paper 2 weeks ago to buy candy corn lights (3.99 without coupon & 2.40 with!!) THEN i went again last week and got another strand with sundays coupon! haha!! i missed yesterdays though

I've been looking for posts on this subject for 2 wks and finally found it! I have a question for you decorating experts...how long does a strand of lights have to be to cover the sides and top of a resort window and how do you hang them? We'll be staying at the ASMo at Christmastime. I'M SO GLAD I FINALLY FOUND THE RIGHT PLACE TO ASK MY QUESTIONS!!!

We use tape but are going to try the suction cup hooks this year!! we always bring 3 strands and i have no clue how long they are! haha!! sorry!!!

oh and don't forget you will need about a 9ft extension cord to plug them in!

EASTER IDEA:

definately get a basket of some sorts and fill it with plastic eggs as the centerpiece for your window!! if you don't have room for a basket, bring a colored scarf or something like that to wrap around the ICE BUCKET and use that!!!

I went to Michael's yesterday and got some window clings, Halloween lights, and some sticky foam balloon shaped letters to make a Happy Birthday sign for my son! I didn't know about any 40% coupon, though. I only got one strand. I guess I'll need at least 2 more?? Are the coupons in the paper every Sunday??

Then I went to HD, and there must be a DISer around here because they were out of Alien Green mickey heads!! And only had 2 black ones! I grabbed the 2 black ones and several orange ones, though! Luckily, there is another HD close, and they had black, orange, and alien green!! I grabbed a stack of each! I felt so naughty!!

Now, I just have to cut them all out.....

yes the sunday paper always carries the AD for michaels and 9 times out of 10 they have a 40% off coupon!! sounds like you got some great stuff!!

Oh my! I started this thread in May before our trip and I have not been back on the boards since we came home in June. I am so amazed that it is still going strong with soooo many replies. It is so great to come back in and see so many of the same people that helped me get into the disney mood before our trip. It kind of feels like seeing old friends!
