Decorating your resort room?

Just checking in and reading about the new ideas. LOVE IT!

I have just read through many pages of room decorating ideas, and I also followed a ling to someones page for iron on trasfers for shirts. I was wondering if anybody still makes those? I could print htem on cardstock and laminate them and then after the trip put them in her scrapbook. I would like to have the Minnie heads for DD's and myself and the Mickey head for DH. Also, maybe a special one for DD who is celebrating a surprise birthday. She has no idea we are going for her birthday, so I thought I could sneak up to the room while DH gives the girls a tour of the resort and put up a few birthday decorations.

I haven't read through all the posts so I don't know if anything like this has been mentioned....

We just got back from a 2 week stay at POP and I had brought some window clings with me. My youngest DD thought it would be fun to decorate our window. Well, she arranged her stuffed animals in the window and then decided to apply the window clings. She put them on the outside of the window.........
SOMEONE STOLE THEM:scared1: :scared1::scared1:
......the next day 1 was missing and then the day after that another went missing. After the second time I moved what was left to the inside of the window. They didn't look as nice but at least we still had 1 princess and 2 flowers.

Can you believe that? :confused3 I guess it must have been kids but would you let your kids steal from someone else right in front of you?

Yes, that happened to us last December at CS. We had the Christmas clings and someone stole the one of Pooh, Tigger & Piglet caroling. :sad2:
But, it was the only time it's happened in about 8 trips (most of which were at POP).

Wow, I can't believe this! How awful! I will make sure our clings are on the inside for sure!

Will they stick on the inside? I didn't think they would.

could i get one with these names please? thank you so much!

Amanda
Robin
Preston
Matthew
Scott

sure I can do them for you.

If anyone wants Mickey/ Minnie heads with names, please PM me what you want, to keep the decorating thread clear of lots of request. I'm not on the design board because the request from there are overwhelming. I get so many great decorating ideas from this thread I want to give back.

I put my window clings on the inside of the window...

HELP!
I bought some magnetic paper (not cheap, $6.99 for 3 sheets @Hobby Lobby) to print out some characters to decorate our door @Pop in September.
When I go to print what I want on it the top of the character's head is cut off! The rest of the image is fine...it seems like the printer doesn't start printing right away????
Do I need to adjust my printer settings? To what?
(The magnetic paper is thicker than regular paper.)
I hope someone here has some experience with this because I don't want to waste any more paper!

:thanks:

i have no idea kristineamb! go to the disigning thread and see if someone can help there!

I think I read this somewhere on this board. When you are printing on your window clings, convert your picture to it's mirror image, then print on your cling. Then it will stick on the inside of your window.

Can anyone confirm this? It makes sense to me, especially if you have words.

Yes, especially if your image has words you need to reverse/mirror image! :thumbsup2

I go to page layout before I print and make sure the whole image is inside of the border box, and adjust if not

Not positive on this but I don't think they take them away, I wouldn't put in carry on though. I mailed all my stuff down early so I didn't have to travel with it.

AH! Great idea!! This year we've been successfully experimenting with just carrying-on our luggage. It's been great! And really streamlines the airport experience. :thumbsup2

I've been reading this great thread and wanting to do something really creative for a future trip. Some great ideas here! But wasn't sure if it'd take up too much space. So mailing stuff down early is good idea - I'm not sure if you were just talking about lights or all types of decorations.

How did you get them home though?
