Decorating your resort room?

For Arenita:

Were you allowed to decorate on the outside door at CR? Did you see any at BayLake Towers? We have never stayed at a Deluxe and want to be prepared for what is allowed and what to bring.

Oh, I am so thrilled about this! After reading this thread and viewing pics, I decided to call my mother and let her know that people decorate their resort room windows! She makes fun of me for my binder, my countdown calendars, and all the time I spend planning! I said "guess what Mom? I have a new project!!!!" She was like "Oh, you are such a dork." I got to tell her that I was actually part of the Disney cool group!!! Yay! I love projects, especially when they are related to Disney!!!!!!

I am totally with you! It adds to the countdown excitement to plan how to decorate your windows. I was scrambing up here in Vermont, however, trying to find Christmas Disney stuff though! Have fun with it and make sure to post pictures when you get back!

Just tell your Mom your dork amog other dorks, and thats a great thing:cool1:

I am staying at the Boardwalk Villas and have never been there before. Are there windows in the hallway that I can decorate? I realize i won't have as many passers-by but I would like to do something festive.

Yay for dorks!

I decorated my window on my last trip and was asked to take everything down. They were going to charge me $25 a day until I removed everything! :guilty: I think this was a resort wide thing, because on our first day we saw lots of decorations but by the 3rd day nothing!

I took forEVER to finally post pics so I am sorry! We were there in October for Halloween...awesome. Our window looked a little sad by the end of the trip because we had two 2-yr-olds with us, but here is a pic.

Check out our entire trip at:

p.s. This was my 10th disney trip from Oklahoma and I was told by All-Star front desk that decs can stay up as long as you don't put adhesive or paint on the window. We used little suction cups fr/ the dollar tree. They held up just fine and everything cleaned up nicely. My mom also decorated the inside of her room with lights, etc.

Hope that helps! We will be back in December, this time at the Dolphin!

Looks great!!, I feel bad i did not take any pictures of our MNSSHP in 2009, well this year I am goi ng to wear out our camara with pictures. LOL

I LOVE all of the decorating ideas on this thread!! Awesome job, everyone!!

For those of you who posted decorations with your kids names on them - has anyone had any issues with strangers knowing your kids names? Anything weird?

So 2009 we where at POP for MNSSHP,this year we will be at BWI. They allow there,is there space?. I will deco the room if not but just wanted to get some info

This is the best thread *ever* :) I've never been to Disney before, and this trip is probably going to be our only one for a looonnnng time - it would NEVER have occurred to me to decorate but I am SO going to now!

My husband is going to think I'm nuts if I tell him, so I might have to just sneak bits in to my case ;) The children will *love* it I'm sure!

I'm planning the window already - I should draw a draft really as I'll forget otherwise! For the door I was thinking of doing a birthday celebration countdown, as we are going to celebrate my oldest and youngest sons' birthdays while in Disney (though it's not for another month, this was the only time we could get and a Disney birthday has gotta be the best, right?!)

Slowly plowing my way through the thread, I did skip a hundred pages at one point, but have now realised that I've probably missed some real gems! So back to the start I go...

Si I just switched(again:sad2:) to POR. So again how Is deco at POR,we where there 5 years ago and can not remeber if they have windos by the door like POP?

They do, we were there Feb 2010 and decorated our window. Unfortunately, the window sweated and all the homemade window clings sweated off with the window sweat. It was cute for a day.

Where your clings on the inside? over at POP they did not come off. I wondwer what made the diffrence?

When we stay in hotels in WDW we put things like lights or decorations around the window or balcony and look for it when were outside

I'm also wanting to know which resort! How sad and disappointing :(

Does anyone know if All Star Movies are normally ok for decorating?

I think the value resorts are ok with decorating but not the mods or deluxe. I've personally decorated my room at both POP and ASMu with no problems at all.

I've noticed some window signs on this thread that used the "Disney" font. How can I get this for my computer?

Thanks!
