Decorating question...how tall should end tables be

relative to the height of the arm of the couch?

Ours are pretty close to the same height.
The ones in my parents' house are abit lower than the arm of the couch.

Ours is about 5 inches below our couch, but only because our couch has taller arms... great for relaxing!
