We will be on the Wonder and booked 3 rooms together. I was told that the cat 5c rooms can have the partitions removed to connect all 3 balconies.

Can I hang lights or paper lanterns to span the length of the "impromptu" extended balcony??

Has anyone done this before?

Thank you!

no, you can't hang anything on the verandas. your not even supposed to leave clothes/towels out to dry as some like to do on backs of chairs..

Unfortunately the balcony dividers do not open on the Wonder. Also you are not allowed to hand things from the balconies.

You are not allowed to hang anything on the verandahs. "Seasonal and celebratory lighting strings" are on the list of prohibited items, so the lights won't be allowed onboard.

The above post, I believe, is correct...you can open the balcony dividers on the Dream or Fantasy, but not on the Magic or Wonder.

Since her re-image, you can now open the verandah dividers on the Magic.

So, only on the Wonder the verandahs don't connect.

I was told by DCL that the dividers between connecting rooms open on the Wonder. We have three adjacent rooms, but only 2 are connecting. So they put the request on the reservation to open what they could.

Honestly, they don't want things hanging from verandahs as it can make the ship look tacky and more importantly, can be a safety issue for people on other verandahs or for the sea life if something comes loose.

And the verandahs do not open on the Wonder as stated. Sometimes the phone people are not aware of things.

Nice idea ... but ....

This is what can happen when cigarette meets towel on the veranda (granted, DCL has implemented a smoking ban on the verandas...) - imagine what would happen if a spark found one of your paper lanterns ...

and we don't want this to happen to any of "our" ships!

I am super glad I asked!! I have never decorated any of our balconies in the past. With this being our first Christmas season cruise I just thought it would be festive.

Thank you all for your honesty!! :worship:

On a side note...I was also told by a DCL agent that our partitions could be removed. My TA verified that they, in fact, CAN'T be removed.

Bummer... :worried:
