Forgive me if this is the wrong board for this question.

We are going to be staying at the Cypress Pointe Resort for the first two weeks of December :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc , and I REALLY want to have a tree set up there for our holiday trip.

That being said, I don't know which would be more expensive:
1) shipping a pre-decorated tree down there, or
2) getting a local service to do this for us - have it ready for when we check in.

I read somewhere else on this forum that there is a service like this in the Orlando area. Anyone know anything about this so I can get prices from them?

Thanks in advance. :wave2:

Giftsofalifetime......that's the one I remembered reading about, but couldn't for the life of me remember the thread or a key word to do a search!

I know we will have a tree somehow. I've heard of people shipping a small 3' one down to Orlando, but buying one there is also an option. Can't figure out which would be more fun - having it as a surprise set up in our condo when we arrive OR decorating it together!

I will check out 'gifts' to see what they have to say.

Thanks again!! :goodvibes

i guess I am just to cheap.

I would go with Walmart. You can get a small one with lights for around $11 - without lights even cheaper.

but I hope you find something you enjoy and want to have.

Yes, budget is definitely a concern. However, this is a special Christmas trip where we are taking my teenage boys after I gave up custody of them over the summer, so I guess I want it to be super-special. If budget says we buy the tree at Walmart, I guess what will make it special is decorating it together.

Thanks again! :wave2:

there is a new super walmart just up the road.

We did this last year at our rental house. We purchased an artificial tree from Super Wal-Mart. Seems like it was a 4 foot tree for about $15. We went to Dollar Tree at home and purchased ornaments and garland which we took with us. Also took some cheap, extra lights that had been purchased the year before. We used candy canes as inexpensive ornaments, too, and the kids got to eat them as a treat! We just left it all there - I assume someone from the cleaning service took it, or else they just set it out with the trash.

Here's a pic of the tree:

Awesome tree, mareed, and thanks for sharing. Makes me think I am not going completely overboard here.....The boys will be with their dad on the actual Christmas day, so our trip to WDW will be our Christmas together. Can't imagine it without a tree.

Thanks again, everyone :flower:
