"Decline Magic Band" option now available?

so we got a semi split stay in October with first night at OKW and next four at POLY. If I decline the poly bands obviously Ill be able to still use the OKW ones and book all our FP+ stuff correct?

Feeling disney dumb in Maine!

correct.....I always like to take at least 2 bands though.
DS lost his on our trip in Dec. so it was nice to have another

That example doesn't make sense to me. It's not "free" because 1-they build it into the cost of the package, and 2-they actually really do have a monetary value (about 15 bucks plus the cost of shipping).

I'm under the assumption that basically Disney has come to the conclusion that they can maybe cut costs by not making it mandatory per package... I'm just saying to get the reduced numbers they're probably looking for, they need to add a little more incentive for me to decline (e.g. $10 room credit per declined MB.. that way they end up saving about $5 for each MB... plus the shipping rate... quid pro quo)

I agree! I have 10 MagicBands already from various trips and my fabulous Ariel one that I bought separately. I have had Cast Members tell me that they believe there may be some issues linked to having too many MagicBands- but they're working on the kinks-- and so far it's been nothing that makes a huge difference to us. But unless there's some incentive to decline it I'm going to keep 'em coming! I do think some sort of small credit would be a great incentive to both parties. And I definitely think they have value. Disney did a lot of planning for these bands and MyMagic+ which included price increases. So the "free" bands are already calculated into the price of your trip. Maybe we will see an incentive in the near future.. if not, I'm going to keep having fun collecting them! :)

Why do I see no decline option for me? I'm traveling with friends in the same room/reservation. Some have declined. Everyone else shows the option to decline. I had a MB last September but it's deactivated and long since thrown away. I have no plans to go int the parks the 3 days I'll be at WDW next month. I don't have any ticket media. I'm not wearing a MB. Not happening. So why is it I'm the one who can't have the decline option?

So if we have three magic bands from a previous trip and we are getting three more for a trip in December, we can use any of the six during our Dec. trip?

Because you have no active bands on your account.

Yep.

I declined ours for our last stay in August and went in last night and declined 4 sets for upcoming stays. I had bought DH and myself the signature Mickey & Minnie bands before our last trip. I don't plan to accept anymore in the future unless they come out with purple bands.
