decks 1 or 2

We are trying to book the March 14 cruise and availability is limited. We can get deck 1 1067&1069 or possibly deck 2 2502 & 2504 or 2643 & 2645. Basically our concern is noise on deck 2 as these deck 2 rooms are reported noisy on other sites. I read a negative post on noise on deck 1 and also more trouble getting around since corridor is not through. We would have a window in 2502 which we like. Our 12yrDS is worried he will be sick so is Deck 1 better for him? That room is midship. We're confused and are considering just trying someother time. Any advise?

We're in 2506 for our upcoming cruise, and chose that deck and a window because of seasickness concerns - my family used to work on cruise ships, and my mom SWEARS to me that the closer to the water line you are, the less you feel movement, and by having a window, you help avoid that inner ear confusion that happens when your inner ear "feels" movement but your eyes don't "see" movement - looking out the window at the horizon to sync the two is helpful, according to her

We have stayed on Decks 1 and 2 several times.....we have had several different cabins and never had a noise problem....I can't say about the cabins you mentioned because we did not have those ones.

We found Decks 1 and 2 the MOST convenient of all the decks. You are just steps away from guest service, shore excursion desk, restaurants, WD theatre, shopping, studio sea, formal portraits, character signings, etc.

The best part of decks 1 and 2 are the ease in getting on and off the ship when you come and go while in a port. No waiting for elevators, just walk down the hall and you are "home". We never found Deck 1 a problem because it does not run the length of the ship. It was no big deal.

Thanks for the replies! Just found out our travel agent was wrong about the deck 2 window rooms being connecting. I have heard from 2 sources now one being disney that they are adjoining which won't work with our kids. I guess it pays to double check everything. If we go it sounds like inside deck 1. Hope the4ofus has fun on their cruise and it sounds like mmouse37 already has!

We've stayed inside deck one before and liked it. Deck One has fewer cabins than any other deck, and I think hallway noise is more of a concern than other noise for any cabin. We have also had a outside room on deck two, and the porthole is nice, but I prefer the layout of the inside cabins better.

From now on we'll request either inside or veranda.

Its so great to hear these positive comments. I tend to panic when I read the negatives. The noise/vibrations we have read about supposedly comes from engines or anchors or what's above. It may be so subtle that many people don't notice. Someone posted about special doors to seal off water on deck 1. That will scare my DS as he already is apprehensive. Are the doors they're referring to on all the floors as opposed to just deck 1?

I don't think there are any water tight doors in the public areas. True water tight doors are much like bank vault doors but thinner. The doors you are referring to are mostly likely the fire doors. They are every 50 feet or so on every deck.
