We have a cat. 10 cabin on deck 2 booked for our 7/17/04 western DCL cruise. I just saw today that a cat. 10 cabin on deck 7 is available. Does anyone have any experience staying on deck 7? Do you think we would have any more/less trouble with motion sickness being on one deck vs. the other?? We sailed before staying on deck 2 and I think I would like to be closer to the upper deck action, especially since our 14 yo DS will have his best friend traveling with us and I think they will spend a lot of time at the pools and teen club. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

We've only stayed on deck 7 room 7127 so I can not compare the decks. I can tell you that there is a great deck at the back of this deck. Hardly anyone is ever on it. We like to get up early and go out there. It's almost like having our own verandah.

We also found that it was pretty quiet.

We also liked the location because it was in between. There were a number of times that the elevators were full or a little slow. I knew most of the time I could use the stairs and get there quicker.

Good luck on your decision and have fun!

I've stayed on deck 7 and deck 2, and never noticed any difference in the degree of motion. You may see more motion if you're far forward, but even that's no guarantee. Personally, I hope for a little motion, to remind me I'm on a cruise instead of in a Disney resort (with tiny rooms <g>).

Thanks for your helpful responses. I think I'm going to change to the deck 7 cat. 10 cabin.

wdw1972 - Are you the "Sue" with the GREAT Vero website and a DVC member? If so, thanks so much for the website! We visited Vero for the first (definitely not the last) time this past summer. The website was VERY helpful in our planning with our friends and their kids who joined us on vacation. I now know why you love to go there and relax. It was wonderful! I hope to use our DVC points there in the summer of 2005 for a week or so.

I am leery of deck 2 after being in stateroom 2626, which is over some kind of cargo door. I learned just how early the ship arrives in port, believe me! Based on that experience, plus being under Rockin' Bar D once, I wouldn't do deck 2 again unless it was absolutely the only thing available. But noise aside, 2 really was very convenient.
I've been in several Cat. 11s on deck 7 and have never had an excessive noise problem. I've never had excessive movement on either of those decks. Rather than high and low, I've noticed it seems more like I can feel the motion more in a forward cabin than an aft one.

We have been in a Cat. 9 cabin on Deck 2 for our last three cruises and love the location! It is very quiet and mighty nice to be so close to the restaurants as we do not have to hurry to get to meals. Also, it is very easy to get off and on the ship while in port as the gangways are only one deck down. We are usually exausted after a fun-filled day in port and it's nice to know we don't have to wait for elevators or walk several flights of steps to get to our cabin. We just take one flight of stairs and voila, we're home!!!

Of course the downside is that the pools and Topsiders are on the top deck but when all is said and done, we're happy with Deck 2 and plan to stay there for our next cruise.

I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter what deck you're on!

So what is the great Vero website? Address please? :D
