Deck 10 on Fantasy

We had stateroom 10098 on the Fantasy. Yes, we heard the clean-up crews moving lounges around in the wee hours. After a couple of nights just didn't notice the noise. Now when we hit Hurricane Sandy, all sorts of things were bashing around up there. Way to busy hanging on to the bed to really care.

Looks like there is a Deck 8 aft, with a room available that is just on the edge of Midship. I think we may go that way! Thank you all! I would hate for us to really need a sleep-in morning and get woken up. I can't ever go back to sleep after that!

We just returned from a 7 night western Caribbean on Deck 10 on Fantasy (10610) just a bit aft of mid and noise was not a problem for us. Having read some comments on here I was a bit concerned about it but there was no issue at all. At bedtime I would, just for white noise, turn the TV to the "Bridge Report" channel, which shows info about the ship position, weather, etc, and plays continuous music, and middle of the night I'd normally turn it off. This is something I would have done regardless of what room we were in. That may have acted to cover some noises I guess but we really never noticed any noise enough to be a bother even when TV was off. A couple of the mornings when I was actually up early I could hear a little bit of noise if I tried but it wasn't loud at all, and everyone still sleeping didn't notice at all. I am not sure exactly what our room, 10610, puts you underneath so it may have just been in a location without much chairs or activity above. I think it was near the starboard entrance to Cabanas or maybe slightly into the deck area but away form the busy pool deck area. I booked VGT and was happy with the room assigned and would have no issue choosing deck 10 in the future, although will likely continue to book VGT to save that money as were not all that picky about what room we get as long as its a verandah. The best part of our room location was the quick easy walk, to aft or mid stairs, to Cabanas and the pool deck without having to mess with the elevators. I think the biggest difference to remember about most of the deck 10 verandahs is the huge overhangs. It was bigger than I expected, which can be good or bad depending on what you want. My wife wanted sun, I kind of didn't (didn't want to put sunscreen on just to sit on the verandah). The overhang also obstructs your view of the sky, which would not normally have been an issue but there was a lunar eclipse during our cruise and we had to go up on deck to view it. If you want sun or want a good view of the sky at night I would not do deck 10, if you want some protection, and privacy from above the overhangs are great.
