Right now we have reservations at both over Christmas time and aren't sure which place is actually more convenient to access the parks. Based on the research I've done it looks like it takes more time to get from the Hilton than it does from the Caribe to most of the parks? We aren't sure if we are renting a car, so we would be relying on the shuttle services. Is Caribe quicker to access the parks since it is a straight shot? Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

One major consideration is that Hilton has access to Extra MAgic hours which would be good since that is the most crowded week of the year

We did consider extra hours, but with two small children the late hours aren't as important. I'm more concerned about access via the transportation system, the pros and cons of both resorts via this route. I realize they both use Mears, but what I don't know is whether the Hilton stops at multiple hotels, or whether they get passed up due to busses being full, etc. It looks like Caribe and Buena Vista are the only two hotels on their route. Thanks for any and all advice.

Hilton's buses are shared with all the DTD hiotels but they run almost constantly while I think Caribe has a more limited schedule

We don't use any late hours but the 7am opening at MK is priceless this time of year. We usually do attractions until a sceduled 11am ADR and then we leave as most are just getting started. I would keep Hilton for this alone. Also, time to MK and Epcot, HS is very quick from Hilton DTD. We always rent a car so I cannot comment on transportation.

Thanks for the info. Birnbaum seems to think it takes much more time by his calculations from the Hilton, so I'm not sure why this is? That in essence is the whole reason for post, so maybe the Hilton is the better choice.

Is that new about the bus sharing for the Hilton? In the past, it used to have dedicated bus service.
