For our upcoming trip in July, we may be able to make the drive down one day earlier and I really don't want to waste another night stay at the WL since it will be evening when we get there. So I was wondering if someone could suggest a nice inexpensive place to stay near WDW for that night? Then we could get up early and head to WL for an early check in and maybe even make the park opening time. Just need something inexpensive, clean and in a safe area.

Thanks.

Kissimmee is very close to WDW - in some places (like the AK area) less than 3 miles.

but I need more information from you - how many people and what is inexpensive.

I consider inexpensive to be under $30 - some consider it under $70 - some consider it under $100.

for under $30 - you would be luck to get a 2 star with AAA.

for $70 you could get most of the 3 stars in the area

just go do priceline.....

I have used priceline a couple of times - but now I like my cat in the room with me - so when we don't stay at WDW then I need to make sure the place accepts pets - so lately I have been using

http://www.hotelkingdom.com

they tell you which accept pets at a glance.

Inexpensive for me would be around $50. There are 4 of us, me, DW, DD & DS. I plan on using some of the discount hotel webpages, I just need to know which hotels are decent places. Thanks for the info.

Everyone's opinion's differe there too. While some don't mind a Quality Inn, Holiday Inn, other's can't stay at anything less than the GF w/o calling it a dump.

Try hotelkingdom.com sometimes they have some decent places at a good price. Personally I'd take the gamble and use priceline. For our upcoming trip I got the Sheraton Safari for $37 nt and the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird for $27 a night. Both get mixed reviews. But I'm willing to give them a shot. I mean heck, the one is a Sheraton. The other is a Holiday Inn-- in the last yr this hotel started being renovated from what I read- and the recent reviews on trip advisor are good since then.

I don't know exactly when in July you are arriving, but you might want to look at this: http://www.hotelkingdom.com/hotelinfo/info.asp?hotel_id=1062

The 1BR at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas is not sold out yet. It is very nice. There are many other possibilities in either Kissimmee or Lake Buena Vista.

I got the Grosvenor on Priceline for $40. Can't beat that for being in the Disney Resort. Definatley try priceline.

I've stayed at the Masters Inn on International Blvd. (Also stayed at their hotels in Atlanta and Tampa) Found it to be clean, quiet and good prices.

We've also stayed at the Magic Castle which I believe is Ramada property and found they have good prices too.

My $.02...stay away from the Days Inn chains. The ones I've been in have been very disappointing.

Ratpack,

Hi! I understand your consternation in picking a decent offsite hotel. ( I have been in that boat many times.) In my opinion, for what its worth, there is only one sure way to be happy offsite; stay at a brand new hotel.

One of the newest hotels in Kissimmee is the LaQuinta Calypso Cay. (I think.) I just stayed there in January, and it was a new, clean, safe and decent place. (The rate at the time was $59.00 a night through AAA travel - 2 double beds in one room.)

Your best bet is to find a brand new hotel (via a travel agent, AAA travel, etc.) close to Disney World and negotiate for the best rate.

I wish I knew of more newer hotels, in the Disney area, but I don't. I kinda keep track of them through the yearly subscription I have through AAA, but I have been too busy to keep up.

Good luck in picking a place! I'll be glad to answer any questions you might have.

Take care!
