I am sitting here in this hot southern Ontario weather trying to decide what to pack for our December trip.

We will be there the 15th-29th and packing is going to drive me crazy.

Sites I've checked say the average is 70ish for that time. A friend who lives near Tampa suggested it would probably be "capri" weather for us for the most part.

However, I am trying to plan/pack appropriate clothing for myself, dh and 4 young kids. Anyone have any experience for that time of year? Any advice what we should be packing?

We are renting a house, so laundry is no problem.

TIA

We went Dec. 10th to 17th 2005.

We could wear shorts and t-shirts during the day but the evenings were long sleeves and jeans. You might even need a light jacket for some nights.

We have been to Disney world 3 times in December always around the 9 to the 19. The first trip in 2001 was quite warm we went to the water parks often. In 2005 the weather was cooler most of the time we wore jeans and took a small jacket for at night. Last year it was warmer than the year before, we wore shorts in the day and jeans at night. We just rented a locker at the park and would change if it became cool.. The other thing that you need to take is a rain poncho. The last two years we had a couple of rainy days. The rain never lasted long but was enough to soak you.

We werer there December 2006 and the weather was warm enough for us Canadians to swim during the day. We did need light coats or sweaters at night to keep warm. The day was warm enough for tshirts and shorts, mid to low 70's, the day we left at 11am it was only 45. Best advice we got was be prepared for all temps.

I have gone twice in December once Dec 1 - 14th. The weather was very warm. In the 80's. Temperatures where 10 degress warmer then normal.

Then went Dec 28th - Jan 8th and the weather was mid to high 70's, sometimes early 80's. The day we were leaving a cold front came in and the temps dropped to 50's.....Spring weather for us:rotfl:

I like December weather. No heavy duty sweating, swimming is an option and very little rain!

Have spent many Christmas's and New Years at WDW. It can be beautiful and it CAN be cold too! Take a couple of jackets (1 lite-1 a little warmer), sweatshirts and Sweaters and also T-shirts for those wonderful days. It can be very up and down. One New Years Eve it poured all night and we were soooooo cold.

HAVE FUN!

We went last Dec. It was hot when we got there. 30 C.

When we left at the end of the week it was down to 12 C. We took a thin polar fleece jacket and a windbreaker jacket and that seemed to work on cooler days.

Hi,

I found this web site that gives the average for the month of Dec.

http://www.orlando-weather.us/orlandoweatherindecember.html

Hope it helps and remember to post a trip report. :)

Bring those $1 pair of stretchy gloves for everyone. They don't take up much room but one night in 2003, we had to buy Disney Gloves $10 to watch Fantasmic because it was so cold.

We did Shorts and T-shirts some days, capri and long sleeve shirts on other days and jeans and sweatshirts on other days...It was changing daily.

It can also be a good excuse to buy a Sweatshirt as a Souvenir...;)

I am glad I am not the only one wondering what to pack. We will be there Dec. 5 to 13. I haven't been there that time before, but about 4 years ago we went in January and while the CM were dressed in Parkas and their winter gear, we were out in the water at Typhoon Lagoon. It was really chilly though. And if I remember, I wore jeans and long sleeved shirts all the time. My husband ended up buying a sweat shirt for evenings because it was cool.
