We are going nove 30th to dec 13th to orlando with the first 5 days or so dedicated to DW and are curious what are the crowds like that time of year? how long do you have to wait for rides and so forth? any recomendations on things we should pack before we go things we wont need and things we should be prepared for? Also what do you recomend to carry a digital camera and a small camcorder around in like when you go on rides and so forth and just to carry so you dont have to hold on to it or have it on your shoulder the whole time? any suggestions and ideas or things you have done on your trip let me know. thank you all so much

We bring a backpack. It is what we use to carry all the stuff we need throughout the day in the park. We've only brought the camcorder on 1 trip. In all honesty, it was a bit of a pain to lug through all the parks and I doubt we'll bring it again. As for our digital camera. I keep it in it's case and then put it in the backpack. We try to keep the items to a bare minimum so as we are not lugging 15 pounds around on our backs all day.

The crowds should be pretty light. Therefore wait times shouldn't be too bad and the use of FP should make park touring pretty easy.

As for weather, be prepared for anything at that time of year. Swimming temps will be a 50/50 shot.

Packing-- I always forget something. But try to remember things like sunscreen and poncho's as they are so expensive in the parks.

Ditto on kilee's comments. We went to WDW the first week of December once and it was wonderful! We also carried a small backback.

Also, I cannot emphasize enough to be prepared for ALL kinds of weather. While some people have been lucky and experienced comfortable temps the entire trip, that was not the case for us. We experienced everything from 80's to 30's (I'm not kidding!), beautiful skies, to a thunderstorm. Most of the time though, it was beautiful, but COLD! I suggest bringing clothes you can layer. What worked well for us was jeans, a t-shirt, and a sweatshirt/jacket. The attractions are heated, so you'll probably have to take off your sweatshirt/jacket when you get in the building, then put it on after you leave the ride/attraction.

Also, be sure to visit the resorts to see their holiday decorations!

We have been to WDW 4 times in the last 5 yrs. Take a variety of clothes. It could be 80 or it could be 30. In most cases it wont be extreme cold but be prepared all the same.
Crowds are not bad. Most rides you can be on within 15 mins. Weekends will be a little more crowded at MK.
See the resorts. They are decorated up in Christmas attire. If time doesnt allow for much, at least check out GF for the tree and the lifesize Gingerbread house and WL for its huge tree and trimmings.
WDW is a special place to be at this time of the year.
Have fun!!
