how is the second week in December? Low crowds? We’ve never been at that time of year so we have no clue but would love to see the Christmas decorations. This would be for 2020.

Used to be lower crowds, but last time we went wasn't the case by far. No longer go in Dec. - not worth it to us. The decorations at the parks are not nearly what they used to be either - was really surprised the last year we went a few years ago in how much fewer and less elaborate they were. The resorts have some nice ones though.

We went for 5 days last year the 2nd week of December. It was busy - crowds everywhere. Not as bad as Christmas week or Thanksgiving though.
I thought I just had bad luck and was where the crowds were but others had encountered the same thing.

DW and I have been at WDW in early December for over 20 years, first on vacation on site and for the last 4 years as snowbirds. Yes, it has gotten more crowded as the years went on but still much less crowded than the holiday weeks. After all these years we still enjoy seeing the decorations both in the parks and the resorts. If you haven't been it is definitely worth a visit. All the fun of Disney enhanced with the holiday spirit.

December is no longer "slow" but I think it is still worth the visit. The MK gets pretty crowded on the days and nights that there is no party, so I plan ADR's for meals when I am in that park on non party days, however if you plan to visit on a day that there is a party you can get a lot accomplished before noontime. WE do both, a party morning, and then a later arrival on a non party day for evening entertainment.

Epcot is nice as well, but again there are Holiday celebrations throughout, so the pathways can be tight.

DHS is lovely during the Holidays, but it is a relatively small park, and gets crowded as the day progresses.

DAK is jreally nice this time of year. I find it oppressively hot during the Summer months, so the December temperatures make that park a joy.

When do you prefer to go now?
