Hi all:

I was surprised to see that 11/29 - 12/07 appears to be a blackout period.... Do you think this is partially because Pop Warner has some many rooms booked and the spillover has caused the other resorts to be nearly booked? Thus Disney does not want to be forced to possibly discount rooms that are already booked.

Does any of that make sense?

I guess it's going to be crowded that week.

It was blacked out that week last year too. In addition to Pop Warner it's also Mousefest week.

Was it blacked out for AP holders, too? I missed the blackouts in all my research, since Mary doesn't have that listed on mousesavers.

We are going Dec 1-9 and used the Disney Visa discount. Saved $414 on our CSR vacation. I knew the blockout dates were for that time, but I called anyway to see if I could apply it. And a wonderful CM was able to do so.

I would call anyway and try. No harm in that.

Although, all deluxes are booked for this time frame using the visa code. Trust me I have called a zillion times in the past day and nothing seems to be available.

The blackout period is based on mousesavers.com

Yep, I see that on the current discounts page at mousesavers. But when we originally booked our dates, we looked at her "historical discounts" page. It doesn't list the blackout dates, so we booked Dec. 2 - 7. Oh well. Still hoping that it won't be blacked out for AP holders, though I'm NOT optimistic.

Yes it was blacked out for AP holders too. But you should still try, just in case.

I looked in my folder and still have the email that I received and it says Value resorts $59 a night for 11/26-12/4/06 and 12/9-12/23/06. So it looked like the blackout this time is longer than last year. (I tried to cut and paste but it wasn't working for me). BTW, that email came on 8/16/06.

UGH! I all that number crunching I did, how could I have missed that. And now we have airfare already booked. What really gets me is that I wanted the week before, but DH insisted on waiting to checkin on 12/2.

. . . So confusing. Because now I am also seeing a few people say they are getting discounts for 12/1 checkins. Which is a blackout according to above.

I'm almost didn't call either because of blackout. Now I'm doing a split stay, 3nights at POR with discount. I've called many times and was never told it wasn't valid due to blackout.

I rebooked from POP to CBR and had the discount applied on my stay 11/30 - 12/08. Couldn't use the discount on my POP room so the switch. Increase in cost was about $150 without the code the difference was over $500

I was able to apply the visa code to my CBR ressie Dec. 1-5 with no problem.

Wow! To complicate matters I just went to the mailbox and found that we got a postcard with PIN!!! (We don't have a visa)
I'm dying for my TA to call in the morning. We need 12/2 - 12/7.

That's why I said you should see try. I think the blackouts are really just a very limited availability and only at select resorts.

I agree, looks like it must be limited availability... seems like quite a few people are getting it during that time frame.

We were able to get the Disney Visa rate for 12/1 - 12/5. We were booked at POR and were unable to apply it there, but were able to upgrade to BC. I wanted to stay there in the first place, so it was a no brainer to upgrade.

Got AKL 12/2-12/7 with PIN code.
Standard room, 1 day MYW base. 2 adults, 1 infant.
$1084.42 (23% discount) includes tax, no insurance.

We may be crazy, but I don't think it's worth it to me to leave WL.

Called back and CM said not available at Beach or Yacht unless we get water view.

Hi I was staying at POR and no luck with discount for general public going Dec1-Dec 10, moved over to CBR and saved $650; I went on Pop Warner's site and apparently they book All Star Movies & Music and POR.

I got Nov 26-Dec 10 at CSR- the value resorts weren't available but the discount was applied to my entire stay. I booked with the GP code even though I have a Disney Visa through the online link about "special season savings" and compared with regular rates we saved quite a bit. At the time of booking I had a choice of CBR or CSR, no value resorts available, no deluxe resorts, however OKW and SSR had availability for both studios and larger accomodations. ---Kathy
