December Secret Out?

Is it me or does it seem like a lot of posts and trip reports from this past Early December have expressed larger than normal crowds (>30min waits)?

Wondering if the secret is out on early December.

I think the secret is out. We have notice more crowds in December as each year passes. Too bad. Still the crowds are not as large as school vacations, etc.

I posted the opposite. We had no to very minimal waits for everything and were pleasantly surprised- i had expected bigger crowds.

It was a first for us and we loved it.

I have to say, I didn't know what to expect. We went this past Dec 11-14 (quick trip). When you were walking around there seemed to be a crowd, not huge, but there were people. However, with a bit of planning and making sure to get there at opening, we never waited longer than 10 minutes in a line the entire trip.

I thought it was a great time and would definitely recommend it to anyone who was considering that timeframe.

We were at the world from 11/27-12/03. I was thrilled with the low crowds at the parks... we did follow Tourguide Mike's advice re: which parks on what days (pretty much avoiding EMH), so I don't know if that had a lot to do with it. We did not use fastpass the entire week, and did not wait more than 10 minutes for any ride. We usually got to the parks around an hour after opening and stayed till late after noon (evenings were spent at the pool and the arcade at Pop). We did see a lot more people in bus lines for other parks, so maybe they were more crowded- but our experience was great!

I agree with Tinkrbeth. I was there from 11/28 to 12/3 and found NO lines whatsoever. I even rode TOT 6 times in a row since it was a walkon But I also avoided EMH parks. You should have seen the lines for the POP busses each morning for the respective EMH park. CRAZY! I live by my Park Hopper option for that reason. I think that eliminates the need to do the EMH parks.

Yes and no. It is still a nice time to go. Really popular for DVC members - low points. But we have been going the end of Nov/first of December for about 4 years in a row and we notice it does get a little busier each time. Nothing horrible - yet.

I talked to a CM about that because when I went in November/December it certainly seemed crowded to me. She's a server at POR, and she felt that crowds have certainly increased at that time over the last few years. So she agreed that the secret definitely IS out!

If this December was "crowded" for December then I would have LOVED to go before. We were there for 10 days the first part of December and I thought it was very manageable crowd wise. We didn't even go to the parks at opening, just arrived in the earlier morning and never really waited for anything. I was surprised to come back and find that some people thought it was way crowded. It may have increased amounts of people, but I think early December is still a great time to go

I just have to make the point that crowds at WDW have been worse for the entire last year, not just Dec. The Celebration has really bumped up attendance. June was really really crowded, longer waits than the year before. October was more crowded than any Oct. I've been to, and you will find several posts about that from this past Oct. Everything just seems to be busier....great for business, I suppose.
