December MaGiC or was it?!? TR starts Pg. 39

Wow! Not a very good way to start your trip. I am so sorry about your box. It certainly looks like it picked through and thrown in the box! Was anything missing??

As upbeat as you are in your writing - I'm sure it gets better!!

Can't wait to hear more!

yor there. :yay: but not going so well. I think that is the mail service cause the same thing happened to me when i shipped to WV for myself. It was a new box and everything. :confused3 nothing was taken. Could be the new security measures. I have no idea.
I think it will only get better from here on. Looking forward to hearing about it.
:thumbsup2

Wow not off to a good start? Sorry things didn't start out very smoothly for you. If it makes you feel any better the people at CSR were NOT nice either. We blamed it on coming off the cruise. The people on the cruise are the NICEST people ever, so we thought our expectations were a little high:confused3

OT,I did get the photopass info, and am almost done, I will let you know.

First off, your kids are adorable! I don't remember seeing pics of them before but maybe I just forgot. :confused3

Sorry your first day was so terrible! I would have been ticked about the box too. What is the point of sending it if that is the shape it arrives in? At least you were able to salvage some of the contents.

I'm glad you thought to check and remembered your camera charger/battery from home! :cool1:

Great start and it can only get better, right? :rolleyes1

Nothing was missing from the box. UPS called today & said my original box was damaged somehow & they replaced it. They need to see the box & the messed up contents  um yeah, as if I brought that back to Louisina. :confused3

Just alittle insight - it only gets worse - but I stayed upbeat the entire trip. Thats just how I am.

I never thought, maybe it is a security measure. Steve said that maybe they thought the box weighed too much to be baby items as we told them when we shipped it. We did have other stuff in there but 75% was for the baby.

Like I posted above, it gets worse - we had ups & downs but we were all together & in Disney - thats all that mattered.

That does make me feel better because you know my resort options were POFQ & CSR. Sorry you had not nice people too though. My nephew, who is there now is staying at CBR & they don't like it either. Is it just this time of year or is it a moderate thing? We've always been treated better staying at Values.

I want to hear more about the cruise. Will you be doing a TR?

Take your time with the photopass - the people after you don't come home till Saturday.

Thanks, I have posted pictures of the kids before but they have both grown so much the last few months.

I was able to salvage some things from the box & thats what mattered the most. With the dining plan, we just made sure we always ordered something Matthew could eat. He only has 4 teeth. Now that we are back home he refuses his baby food. He wants real food now

I'm glad I remembered the camera battery & charger too but thats another story on its own. You'll hear about it soon enough. :rolleyes1

It does get better - at some point. :rolleyes1

I want you all to know I am not a downer & I don't want to make it come off like this entire trip was bad (only half of it was - really :rotfl: )

It doesn't seem to get better though. At MVMCP we took a family picture with Santa using my camera. I knew I wanted to get a good shot to use as Christmas cards. I made them & sent them to be printed at Walmart. I went to pick them up & they wouldn't let me have them. They said it was a professional picture. :rotfl2: I deffinitely wouldn't call myself a professional, but okay if you want to. :lmao: So I need to go back with my memory card to show them its mine, all mine.

Saturday, Dec. 1

No early morning today. We woke up when our eternal alarm went off, which would be Matthew. He started squirming so I got up but he went back to sleep. I got ready & by the time I finished everyone else was up. This hotel has the privacy curtains in the dressing area which I loved. Everyone took their time getting dressed, I put up some of the window decorations last night and this morning I was trying to salvage through a few more. All the Disney ones were messed the most & it looked strange without any Disney. So, I got a few Mickey things that were sort of okay. Steve helped me with this. He knew how bummed I was about it.
100_3961.jpg

We ate the cookies & brownie from last night for breakfast. We headed to the bus stop to the Magic Kingdom. We didn’t have to wait long at all. When we got on, there was also 2 wheelchairs needing to come on but the driver didn’t know how to work the lift very well but we sat patiently. We were going to MK – no worries – there was a lady on there who sounded a little upset because she had caught the 7:00 bus & was there for 5 minutes to 8 & realized they forgot their tickets. So she went back & now it was way after 9. She told us bits about her vacation so far & she must be from these boards because she was a planner & Steve said she does things just like me. I told her everything was going to be okay, this was a minor setback & it probably only meant she’d be in the right place at the right time for something else. And you know what? The next day we saw her in a parade at AK. :thumbsup2

When we get to MK, I am amazed at the people here. Bumper to Bumper so to speak. But the Parade taping is happening. We head to The Barber Shop & there are about 5 families in line & another 4 inside but we have to do this. Steve sat with the boys while the stroller & I stayed in line. I leaned out to get a gum from Steve & some people walked up in front on me. I squeezed my way past them of course. This tended to happen lots. People cutting lines. Rude people in general. Very different from the past. For instance – in the Barber shop, a family was with the lady cutting their hair, so the people in front of us went to the guy, after all it was their turn, then the man from the other group says – actually, I am getting my hair cut too & hops in the seat. He was no longer in line. But, the nice family let it go, mumbling none the less, but I would have too. Next was our turn & we got Michael, the same guy who cut Taylor’s hair the 1st time. I loved that. He is so good with kids.
100_3878.jpg

While we are in there we hear The Jonas Brothers performing & hear something about Hannah Montana. We saw a glimpse of Regis & Kelly.

After we finish there – we were really off schedule. The time it took there went way over what I expected. But next thing on the agenda was Splash Mountain. Taylor absolutely loved it. LOVED it I tell ya. So, he rode once with me, then once with Steve.

100_3911.jpg
(we are the 2nd seat - see me waving :wave2: )

Next we went to Carpets of Aladdin. This was the only day it would be open while we were there. Matthew thought this one was cool.

Then we were off to have lunch. This was at Pinocchio’s Village Haus. The menus I had been looking at were incorrect. So I had to make a quick decision. I went get a table, which was hard. I had to stand there & wait for someone to leave but we got a table overlooking it’s a Small World. So cool. Steve was making the order. I got chicken strips & fries & a Cannoli. The chicken strips were ok, I didn’t like the cannoli. Steve got a Panini with chips & a chocolate shake for dessert. He thought everything was just ok. Taylor got Turkey & Cheese wraps, fries, grapes & a chocolate chip cookie. He really liked his except the wraps were made with wheat. He didn’t care for that.

After lunch, which was late, we headed back to the room, again Matthew slept so Steve stayed with him & Taylor & I went swimming. I was prepared this time & went in too so I could be by the slide. I coached him a little on what to do & he now was a pro.

After bathes, we took the bus back to MK, then the monorail to Poly for dinner at Kona. I had the sticky wings which were good but a bit tangy, filet mignon with potatoes & asparagus. For dessert I had Kilauea Torte which was outstanding. Steve had crab cakes, same entrée as me & he ordered the Kona Kone to give to Taylor. Taylor had soup, hot dog & the sundae which he gave to Steve. When we left here, we were very full & raved about this place.
100_3921.jpg

We then headed back to MK, rode a few rides, watched SpectroMagic, the fireworks, then called it a night. I'll leave you with 1 of my favorite pictures from Spectro

Up next, AK - Matthew's 1st encounter with characters (it actually went well :goodvibes )

You go girl! Two updates in one day! :cool1:

Love the decorations in your window at the resort - so festive! :santa:

Samantha discovered Splash Mountain in October and now it is her favorite at MK - great ride and long too which is always good! :)

Pretty cool that you got to hear some of the parade taping going on even if you didn't see it. Were the ride lines shorter because of this?

Looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

great update and pics. Glad Kona was good as I am eating there next month for the first time.
like the haircut pic. :thumbsup2

hi!!! i've been lurking here for a long time but am coming out to celebrate the start of your report. so sorry about your box......that stinks! i hope you guys had a magical time despite the mishaps!

:goodvibes Count me in here reading along!

Sucky about the box but you've got a great attitude!!!! Your boys are darling!!! :cutie:

I'm good like that - 2 in 1 day :cool1:
Steve was excited just to see the back of Kelly Ripa's head.

Kona was good - I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. Portions are large but we put a good dent in it. The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere.

Thanks for coming out. I read your report a while back & loved it. I can remember seeing your picture holding Tink & saying I had to do that. And I did :goodvibes Stick around to see it. We did have a magical time. Who couldn't at disney :goodvibes

Hey!! I just saw the title of your TR & haven't been to yours probably since you've been back from your trip :guilty: I need to go see what thats all about. My boys are something else, I tell you. If Taylor is wearing a hat, which he will be in some pictures (a santa hat) people didn't know if he was a dude or dudette, as they called it. He has a pretty face. Shh, don't tell him I said that.

Sunday, Dec. 2

Today was our AK day. One of the best days, I must admit.

Up & at em very early this morning - can you tell

100_3963.jpg

We had an 8 am reservation for Donald’s Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. Food was alright, character interaction was great. Taylor loved them all, Matt at this point wasn't too sure but warmed up to them quick.

100_3975.jpg

They suckered Steve into buying the picture they took. It did look nice though.

By the time we got out of there, I wanted to go straight on the Safari but there was already a line.

Next we done Festival of the Lion King, which is always good.
100_3981.jpg

Next, Steve went get Fastpasses for Mt. Everest while we went to the Character Greeting Trail. We missed Mickey because it was Everest time. Steve & Taylor went on it & I got the rider switch fastpass. I went sit on a bench & put in down for a second & someone took it. :( I went tell person who gave it to me & she gave me another.

Then we came up to Nemo, I think. We done a few more things. By now it was lunch time. We ate snacks. Pretzels & frozen lemonades.

Steve & Taylor rode Kali (I'm sure you all see Steve but Taylor is there on the other side of him)
100_3983.jpg

Rode Dinosaur then the flying dinos,
100_3990.jpg

Steve rode the spinning ride while we headed toward the Boneyard. Matthew was sleeping in the stroller & I thought I could bring it in there because I seen others in there. So Taylor, excitedly went ahead of us but the lady stopped me & said park the stroller. I yelled at Taylor but it was too noisy & he didn’t hear. I told the lady she just let my kid in & she said kids can’t come by themselves. I know, but he is in there & because she was wasting my time, I no longer see him. I finally get her to understand & she says to watch the exit because they (the kids) come running out fast. I ask if this is the only exit & she says yes. I don’t want to go in because what if he comes out. Then a see a handicap ramp over to my left, which I am sure could act as an exit to a child. So, I call Steve to come quick & I see Taylor walking the bridge above me, again its too noisy for him to hear. The attendant lady doesn’t seem to care. I saw where he went this time so Steve went in to find him. After about 10 minutes, Steve comes out saying he can’t find him. So I tell him to stay there & I’m going in. As I am, Steve sees him & is able to get his attention to stay put. Finally I got my boy back. But, whew, was I nervous. I looked into getting a wristband with our info for him incase something like that happened. Now, I wish I would have. Steve wanted to get him a cellphone after that.

Now it was dinner time. Flametree BBQ. Sat at a table next to the water. Not as nice as I thought but the food was good again. The BBQ tasted like chili seasoning. I got chicken, beans & coleslaw & key lime pie for dessert(pie was sooo good). Steve got the ribs & chocolate cake. We liked this a lot. Taylor didn’t want anything but after he tasted mine, decided he did. He got chicken wings, jello, grapes & a cookie. He loved it all too.

Now it was time for the parade. We got a good spot & shared it with some nice people who gave Matthew a 1st trip pin.

After that we rode Dinosaur a few more times & then left. But while Steve & Taylor were on Dinosaur, the dream team appeared & asked 3 people to go with them. It was the people right in back of them.

We then went back to the hotel, took the boat to DTD, very relaxing. We went into Goofy’s Candy Company, thinking Taylor would want one of those neat treats but instead he wanted the fill the tube with powder candy thing. Bummer. We had ice cream at Ghiradelli’s. Very Good. Then we headed back to the room & zonked out.

Coming up next: MGM & some bad luck (dum, dum, dum, dummmm)

We were at AK the same day! Maybe we saw each other and didn't even know it.

What a scary situation with Taylor - glad it all worked out. :goodvibes

Didn't you just love the boat ride to DTD? One of the best things about the resort - a nice change of pace from the busses.

Wow, you handled that very well. I think I would have ripped of that CM's head. Sounds like you are/were having a wonderful time. Did you ever get to the Safari?

Love the pictures!!

I was steady on the lookout for all of you but we may have crossed paths.

The boat was a nice change of pace - I wish it could take you more places.

Love the pictures!!

I try to remain calm & collective at all times. :snooty:

We did have a wonderful time. We ended up staying in the long line to ride the safari figuring that it would only get worse as the day went on.

sorry to hear of the scare. other than that sounds like a nice time there at AK. We also are having breakfast at Donalds.

Wow, 2nd restaurant we have the same. We did have a great time at AK. It was nice to see the park without lots of people when we arrived.

Aside from the scare, I am glad you had a good day. Your pictures are good and I wish we would have sen the Festival of the Lion King. :thumbsup2

Monday, Dec. 3

Today was our MGM day.

Stitch called & woke us. Taylor was amazed at that. Kis had to take baths -yes they fell asleep in the clothes from yesterday.
100_3991.jpg

We weren’t in a hurry today but actually made it MGM a bit after opening. Infact the announcer guy was still talking but people were in the park.

We got some nice Photopass pictures today. By the way, Photopass rocks!!

We headed straight to TOT, Taylor & I rode it & he started to chicken out. It was no fun for me cause he kept yelling for me hold him & let me mention I was in the seat with nothing in front of you. He said he was never doing that again.
100_3996.jpg

I was going again & he now wanted to come. I told him I was not going to be holding him again. He was okay with that. I kept telling him to keep his eyes open, it’s much more fun & he agreed & had a blast that time.

Next, of course is RNR. He was a hair too short for this one. Steve went first, then me. The single rider line was faster than fastpass. Steve went again & then we had to hurry over to the HSM Pep Rally. We got a great spot for this & Taylor participated a lot.
100_4001.jpg

Next we went to Playhouse Disney. Steve got in line while we took pictures with Little Einsteins. Matthew watches them occasionally. We made it into Playhouse Disney to see Bear in the Big Blue house but about 7 or 8 minutes into the performance, the girl performing looked toward the back & shook her head, grabbed Bear’s arm & went backstage then an announcement came on saying it had been cancelled. I am unsure why. But then we got into The Little Mermaid.

After that was lunch at 50’s PTC. Our server was Uncle Tim who caught Steve fibbing when he asked the color of the soap in the bathroom. I had onion rings, pot roast & strawberry shake. Uncle Tim frowned upon me for leaving food din my plate but I told him I was watching my figure so he was alright with that. Steve had the fried herb cheese, meatloaf & same dessert. I wish I had gotten the same entrée because it wasn’t as big a portion as the roast. Taylor had soup, nuggets & a sundae. Taylor thought this was a fun place.

After that we rode the calm rides like, The Great Movie Ride, Backlot Tour & went see the Stunt show. On the Movie ride Taylor ducked down so he wouldn’t get shot when the bank robber came out. Its fun to see it through their eyes. I thought the Stunt show had way too much of a long walk to get to the theater. I was so thirsty after all that. Let me mention I was toting a sleeping baby in my arms.

Now we had a little time left, we wandered around some, we missed the parade here. Steve decided he wanted to go on RNR one more time & Taylor wanted TOT.

(Get ready... popcorn:: )

After that we walked over to Fantasmic. Steve went to get us food & amazingly I got the best seats we have ever had. (BTW, he & Taylor got food from Rosie's - hamburgers & they were good. I had gotten an italian sandwich from Eddie's & it was good too) For the show we got 3rd row from bottom, center stage. Matthew was cutting up bad. He hates waiting for anything. I put the backpack down to save Steve’s seat & then Taylor sat. Well Taylor stood up to look for Steve & a family came in. They pushed my bag over. I told Taylor firmly to sit because that was his Dad’s spot. But the lady continued making room for her family. I scolded Taylor by saying he just gave away his Dad’s spot. But the lady still didn’t care. She got up to go somewhere & put her bag down. I pushed it a little & gave Taylor some room to sit. Her daughter, probably Taylor’s age was giving me the eyes. Taylor started playing with his glow ball & he hit it on the lady’s bag & the daughter told him something, so I gave her the eyes back. People around us was talking about how rude that was to take Steve’s spot. Needless to say, I was aggravated. Matthew was crying. The people around us didn’t need to sit through this show miserable. So we left. Steve was coming with out food so we went eat at the top. Matthew loves to eat so he calmed down. When Fantasmic started, we tried going to watch it again & now everyone was better. I went to take a picture & my camera only showed up colors, no pictures. Uh-oh. I messed with it a while & asked Steve if he may have dropped it. He said no. I noticed a new scratch on it & ask if he put that. He says no. At this point I realize the lens can’t see. I check my other pictures & it still reads the card. Whew. I double check with Steve again to see if he done anything to it. He says no, it was in his pocket the whole time. BINGO – it was in his pocket on RNR!! Of course I am bummed. Steve says not to worry; we have some good pictures already. But it’s only Monday, not even half way through our vacation, I NEED a camera. We go look at the Osborne lights & try to figure out what we’ll do. We ask a few people who look knowledgeable. One option was to take a cab to Wal-Mart but it would cost about $60, more if we make him wait.

Our bus driver that night got lost. He went to Key West. When the entire bus started trying to tell him, he turned around & went back to MGM. We were furious. He said he had to do what his GPS said. Everyone was tired & wanted off. An hour & 15 minutes later, that happened.

We ended up going DTD getting a Sony for $200 :cheer2: at Virgin. Not the camera I would have chosen if I had more of a choice but it’ll get us through this vacation. We are all pretty tired after that sprint across DTD. The boat drops us off on the complete opposite side than Virgin. So, we decided to just take the bus back. And to our surprise the bus stop was first here – everywhere else it was last. I put the battery to charge, the kids fell asleep, I took a bath & they we were all out light a light.

Tomorrow - MK day - the calm before the storm - bad dining choices & more.....

i would cry if my camera broke while I was there. I would be the one taking the cab to Walmart and dropping money like crazy. :sad2:
:thumbsup2 = update.
