December MaGiC or was it?!? TR starts Pg. 39

Up until now, I hadn't really been scared to fly - it will be all of ours 1st time.
But now, with about 25 days left - I am getting nervous.

I also have realized the difference in my 2 chidren, We brought DS1 to WDW when he was 13 months & had no problems with him at all - it was a breeze. Now, with DS2, he'll be only 11 months & we have all sorts of things we have to pack for him that we didn't have to for DS1. So in that little 2 month period between 11 & 13 months - a child must really grow up a bit. Either that or my children are totally different. DS1 was able to eat food, we did bring some baby food but not alot. DS2 is mostly eating baby food - he still ony has 2 teeth. DS1 was off formula - DS2 is still on formula & is allergic to milk. DS1 slept all night, DS2 still wakes for a bottle!! DS1 was walking, DS2 isn't. I could go on, but you get the idea. I realized we'll have to pack an extra suitcase for his stuff. I looked into shipping it myself, but the prices are steep. I looked into ordering it over there but I'd pay too much too, so we'll bring it & that way we'll have an empty suitcase to come back with. Or I may just to a duffle bag. Who knows :confused3

**Another difference, DS1 never climbed/crawled out the bed. DS2 just crawled out the bed & landed on the floor with a bo-bo on his head. He was in my bed as he couldn't sleep well last night. His 2 front teeth are trying to pop out. But I suppose I'll have to ask for bed rails at the hotel.

One more thing before I go to work. I was doing our packing lists & DH decided he needs new shoes. Mind you, he bought new gym shoes a few months back for this purpose. ;) So he goes shopping & comes back with 2 pairs of new shoes. A brown slip on casual paor & shoe beige gym shoes. So later on I said, so let me guess, you're bringing 3 pairs of shoes? He says actually, he is bringing 4!! He is going to have a whole suitcase for himself, & I'll have to share with the kids. I think 4 pairs is nuts. Especially for a guy. DS1 & I are bring 2 pairs. I also told him there is no way he'll break them in in a month. Not well enough for Disney walking.

I won't tell you how many pairs I am bringing :rolleyes1

I forgot all about how much stuff you need to pack for a baby! I remember those days as I traveled a lot when Sam was a baby - back and forth from Georgia to Florida for work every six weeks!

I think you will. ::yes::

First off let me tell you. Flying is fun and so much easier. Take off is the best. And the view from a plane is unbelievable, the land below looks like a jigsaw puzzle.

all of your hopes and wishes for your trip will come true, because your trip is what you make of it, you guys will have a great time. I teared up a little at you being excited to ride Splash Mountain with Taylor, i got a visual on that and it just sounds so dear. please include that experience in you trip report as I can't wait to hear how it goes.
It probably wouldn't hurt to bring an extra suitcase for DS1 a baby has needs and you will have all that extra room on the way back incase you have alot of souvenirs.
Your DH is bringing 4 pair of shoes? I bet him a million dollars he doesn't even wear them all while at Disney. I am bring 3 pair, my sketchers, my crocs and a pair of croc flipflops. and slippers they aren't really shoes even though I did goof once and accidently wore them to MK for EMH.

Oh my goodness I am getting so excited:) ]

I wanted to ask everyone a question. My 18 month old drinks a lot of milk. I cannot remember if they sell whole milk in the parks. I cannot remember how much it costs in the food court. Can anyone remember? I am thinking about ordering some from the Garden Grocery. Have you ever used them?

I told my husband last night that I am starting to feel so nervous that I am not ready for the trip. He thought that was hilarious, because I have been planning this trip officially since March! But I really so feel a little panicky about it:)

Michelle, I hope you are right about POFQ, its the first moderate we stay at - well first anything besdies value for that matter.

Take off is the best? Really? Others have told me thats the worst. I bet the view is like nothing else. Can you actually see things? Like houses? Or is it just things & you can't make out what they are?

I really cannot wait for Splash Mountain with Taylor. He is finally tall enough. That will be the first ride for us.

I know DH will not wear all those shoes. And I have to say, 1 pair is slippers. I'm bringing my Nike shoes & crocs. Did you really go to MK wearing slippers? With you, I never really know for sure.

I am getting very excited too. I guess you could say panicky too. I know from Taylor, who drinks plenty milk, they do sell whole milk in the parks, etc. It was around $2 & some change, I believe. Not too bad. I was thinking about using the Garden Grocery but I've read a few things that made me sway the other way. I'd hate to get there & not have diapers, water & baby food. Same with you for the milk. Its something you need. A few people didn't get their entire order or they substituted some items. Let me know what you decide.

Yes! Take off is the best, I love the feeling when the plane leaves the ground, I tell you while it is making it's ascent (sp?) you just lay back and enjoy, it's the most comfortable will you feel in the seat cause once it levels out the seats sit so upright you almost feel like you are bending forward.

The view is neat and you can make out houses and stores, in the summer you can see all the pools bright blue water, unless you are above the clouds which to me seems peaceful. The only thing I don't like is the slight whistle sound I hear the whole flight, it's very faint like bees humming, very annoying. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. That's the only way I know how to explain it. If no one has told you yet, have your little ones be drinking something at take off and landing, the constant swallowing will help with their ears to not have so much pressure in them. I usually chew gum and that helps me. Yawn alot too, if you can.

I really hope you have a great experience your first time flying.:cloud9:

Only 3 pairs Ty?? I thought I was doing good with 5. Maybe not huh?? Come on everyone and spill the beans, I want to know how many shoes everyone takes.

My name is Nikki and I don't want to be a freak!!

Gee, I am only bringing 2. What do you need all those for?

But the real question is - how many is your DH bringing??

I have shoes for jeans and shoes for capris. I have 2 of each to switch when my feet start hurting. The fifth pair, Well it's because I just can't decide.

I am really worried. Should I get help??

I also have a sunglassess issue. I have 5 pairs of those too. I have certain days where I feel like a certain pair.:rolleyes1

Oh, hubby will probably only take 1 pair. Maybe a pair for the pool. He just bought a pair of shoes yesterday. :scared1: ! I told him he really needs to start wearing them or he may be in big trouble when he finds out they aren't so comfortable. He also bought a couple new pairs of jeans. I was shocked. He mows lawns and does landscaping so all his clothes are grass stained. This is what the man wears everywhere. Even when we go out. So it was a huge thing when he bought new ones!!

Finding "Disney shoes" are such a pain for me! My husband can wear any shoe and have no problems w/ blisters or sore feet. I can't find ANYTHING! Not even expensive running shoes! I blame pregnancies! My feet are mishapen from having babies!:rotfl2:

Hey Roxanne. Since you have December Disney experience I have a question for you. Do they have cute santa hats at Disney? Maybe Mickey ear ones? Or should I get cheap santa hats before we leave? Thank you Disney expert!

Monica, not Roxanne here, but I saw your question and was wondering if you had looked at the Disney outlet? They are on sale right now. They also have kid sizes and will personalize them if you want. Just FYI...

You can also get them personlized at the Christmas Shoppe in DTD.

Also, if you order from Disney outlet and use the promo code VETDAY you get an extra $10 off a purchase of $50 or more or $20 off a purchase of $75 or more.

4 Disney hats @ $15/ea with promo code would be a total of $50 or about $12 a hat! Not too shabby!

I got something in the mail yesterday with the code STAR being 20% off but I don't know if there was a limit & VISA for free shipping.

Thanks! I'm not too keen on having everyone's names on them, but the Mickey ears santa hat is cute. I have a really nice santa hat, and I think Megan has a pink one. I got a coupon in the mail the other day for Disney shopping. I'll get on later if I don't have to take Megan to the dr. I like the Christmas headbands that people have too.
