December Exercise Challenge

In an effort to be ambitious, I figured out my training plan for the next three months. I have a 5k on 1/13, 2/10, a 10k on 3/9, and a half marathon on 3/30. :faint: So, with all that coming up, (and not having much to do at work today, :rotfl:), I think I've devised a pretty busy plan. 3 days a week for running (thank you Mr. Galloway):thumbsup2, 1-2 days a week of yoga class :worship:, walking 4-5 days a week at lunchtime :cool1: and 1-2 days off each week :drinking1. All that and a quickie trip :drive: to the Mouse :mickeyjum at the beginning of February is going to make Kymmie either a very happy :hyper: or a very grumpy :furious: girl! Anybody want to join me? :jumping1:

I have been looking for a new exercise program, I hope you don't mind if I steal yours, Plutobaby!
Looking it over, I think I will follow it exactly as written except I'm going to leave out the 5k's, the 10k's, the half marathon, the 3 days a week running and the quick trip to Disney! But otherwise, we'll be twinsies :)

Steal away my friend! :hyper: It's actually right off Galloway's website: http://jeffgalloway.com/training/half_marathon.html (I took the second one on that page for time goal runners).
I don't exactly follow the run/walk/run thing but change it to more like a walk break at the aid stations just for maybe 30-60 seconds. Makes it easier to drink without sloshing it all over myself!::yes:: I also may take a walk break now and then if I feel I need it. I'll have a much better idea how the program works for me at the March race, as the W&D was too crowded for me to get a consistent pace it seemed.

Elliptical 35 minutes

765/750.

I'm gonna keep going just to see if I can get to 850...

And my husband is another sap working this week. Things were so busy, he didn't even get a lunch hour today (what's new?)

Another 45 minute lunchtime stroll (feel like I'm the only sap working this week :( ), and a 39 minute run with the wonder mutt tonight, brings me to 1165/1200. Oh yeah, turn me red baby!!!

30 min. weight lifting and an hour on the treadmill bring me to:

1970/2000 Bring on the red!!! :thumbsup2

Look at all the pretty colors on our first page! :rainbow:

Last long run for the Donald of 285 minutes bringing my total to 1150/1200 96% Woo hoo I'm on fire! :teeth:

I think this is the first time I've ever actually been in reach of hitting my goal on this thread. :rotfl:

Thank you, Linda, for hostessing this month! :flower3:

Fri 12/28: 60 min yoga, 60 min run/walk
1460 / 1500

Woooohooo. 90 minutes walking around the lakes this morning brings me to 768/1000

Updated! :cool1:
Love all the bright colors. You guys are so incredible!!! :worship:

 I woke up just in time to worship the porcelain god this morning, so no exercise for me! ;) It is absolutely horrible timing since today is the last day of the basketball tournament and I am in charge of the concession stand! The booster club wasn't pleased we were going to take it over and we had to move all their stock out to put ours in. Which means tonight we have to put all their stuff back exactly! the way it was. I'm hoping that in a few more hours I'll be feeling well enough to go in and supervise and hopefully not spread any germs! In the meantime I'm missing DS2's final game but keeping a piece of toast down! Back to the couch for me!

Two more days, many, many of you can make it to goal!!

1015/1000

30 minute walk- in the mall, we got record snowfall this week. :(

That's probably all for me for 2012, the weather is working against me!

I wish all of you a happy and healthy 2013!

Thanks so much for hosting glass1/2full ;)

Hope u are feeling better!!! I woke up yesterday with a bad cold (first in nearly a year which I'm taking as a victory compared to my previous 7-8 bad colds a year). So here's my exercise total from the last two days

12/28- 15 min pt
12/29 - 15 min pt

Total 603/800

Not where I wanted to be but, life happens. I have company coming today so we will see if I manage anything more than pt these two days. Usually I can workout w a cold but this one is a doozy.

Thanks for hostessing Linda!

I hear ya. I'm revising my goal. My shins are really hurting from my run. I think i need new shoes or to slow down my mileage. Rather than risk my hard fought recovery by doing too much too fast, I'm aiming for 80-90% this month. I didn't anticipate my injury when I set my goal so I'm trying not to beat myself up over it.

12/27- 55 min run and pt
573/800

Keener- you want me to host January I can do it. Do I need to have any special clearance from the mods?

That would be great! Thanks! You just have to start a thread and go with it!

Will do - everyone start thinking about your January goals and look for a new thread soon! Happy new year!

You all have inspired me. I'm off to do a quick workout before company arrives.

Sorry about the double post! Stupid iPhone.

803/1000 as of this morning. 35 min doing C25K - Week 7, Day 1.

Not gonna make my target but I'm very proud that I've kicked it in gear this week.
